Nice ambiance, and decent baked goods. (And a nice community gathering spot).
I did find myself trying to convince the somewhat hostile Barista to make my simple drink the way I like it. And things like butter for a croissant are unavailable. The problem apparently is the computer must have the exact order and there is no deviation allowed. Good for a Wendy's or a McDonald's but not so much for a community focused business. The hidden service charge is really sneaky and dishonest too, (I wonder if the service charge goes to the employees, or into the owners pocket?).
I did speak with the owner, she educated me on how I should have ordered my drink, (which is how I don't like it), and offered to refund the money for the drink I never got...If I am going to pay a premium to support a local business, I think a little flexibility in ordering is not too much to ask.
Perhaps some consistent feedback will help Homage improve customer service.

We stopped for breakfast on a road trip. I had a scone, which was a beautiful light, rich, delicious masterpiece - a nearly perfect example of all the things a scone should be. My wife had a croissant, about which she commented "the lamination and flakiness of this would make Paul Hollywood cry with joy." The atmosphere is quaint and quirky, but not overwhelming so. Definitely would recommend!

Found insect feces in my food, when I informed management they told me to "eat it and get over myself." Will never return extremely unpleasant experience.

Most of my experiences at homage have been positive and the last two have been less than desirable. After being told that I ordered my coffee incorrectly and that my son with autism could not have a lid for his water I brought this awkward interaction to the attention of the staff. I was then lectured by the owner that maybe I should parent different and have my son use a cup without a lid. She also told me that they were informing me about the coffee so next time I could order correctly. The lecture lasted over 10 minutes with no apology and end by being told that homage may not be the place for me and my son to come for breakfast. When I left the establishment two other tables of customers gave me and my son a thumbs up saying “thank you for standing up”.
The food is 👍but the service👎🏻. Bummer

Incredible bakery! A huge variety of fresh breads and pastries. They also serve light breakfast and sandwiches for lunch. Good coffees and teas. Real, multilayered croissants that get your fingers greasy from all the butter. Stuffed croissants and other pastries, both sweet and savory. Qiuches and puddings. Pies and cookies. Need to advance order pies and stuff for Thanksgiving. Can be a bit pricey, but after eating, it is totally worth it. Very comfortable decor and a nice outdoor seating area with trees and umbrellas.

bland flavorless breakfast croissant served luke warm. Partner asked for light ice in his drink, it was mostly ice. Nothing like paying $7 for a cup of ice. We've been coming here for years and quality has gone way down hill. Step your game up.

The seasonal lattes are 👍👍. Their pastries are also very tasty especially for those with a sweet tooth.

I don’t know what people see in this place. Slow and overpriced. The waiter wouldn’t go away and kept on telling jokes that weren’t even funny. I ordered the avocado tartine and it tasted gross. Let’s set aside whether one slice of avocado toast should cost $14. Why put sugary chili sauce on it? It was unbearably sweet and oily. I couldn’t even finish, and I always finish what I order or take the leftover to go. And it doesn’t help that we waited at least 45 minute for the toast and a sandwich. Definitely won’t go back.

Relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a delicious pastry and coffee. The almond croissant was just the right amount of sweet and flaky. Had a lovely latte as well to complement the pastry.

This place is super nice. I love the way it looks especially the patio. The food was delicious . I orderd the croissant egg scramble. The latte's are a little bitter but all in all its decent and convenient to where I'm staying. The only reason I gave a 4 star rating is cause 1st off they only except card no cash, also when I asked to have avocado added to my meal they told me they couldn't accommodate my request unless I order something that comes with it. Lol It's pretty pricy but it's in downtown so what do you expect.
