What a great local restaurant in Valentine! The service was great! The food was amazing! We loved the coach light burger!! I highly recommend! The staff was so kind and pleasant! Easy to talk too! Definitely made our time there enjoying!

Simple cafe with well-spaced seating. Waitress was attentive. We ordered hamburgers. The hamburger was well above-average. The meat quality was superb. Bacon and cream cheese made for a delightful sandwich. I ordered a slice of rhubarb-strawberry pie a-la-mode. That pie was delicious.

Very nice staff represents “Nebraska, Nice” quite well. Burger was very tasty (no choice on how the cook it and it comes out well done), cream cheese, jelly with a little kick, 2 crispy pieces of bacon, and some canned jalapeños, all on a juice soaked bun. French Fries were crispy. Pie was warmed and complemented the ice cream but wasn’t made in house.

It is an older building that has been around for a long time. Decorated with pictures of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe it has the feel of another time. The service is fantastic and the food is almost like home-cooked from that same bygone era. A great little place to stop and eat!

On my first trip to Valentine, I picked this cafe for my family to eat at based on the good reviews—including several glowing references to pie—which did not lie. Not only was the food good, and hot, but the prices were affordable; I mean, when’s the last time you got a 50-cent cup of coffee? Or a slice of pie for under $4? My guess is that this place is a favorite both for locals and visitors. I would recommend everything we ordered, or anything like it: grilled cheese, grilled ham and cheese, a BLT with fries, chocolate pie with a cup of coffee, pumpkin pie a la mode, and cherry pie with whipped cream.

Great place to stop for lunch or dinner. They have a great variety of home cooked food and the service is great. We got the fried mushrooms and chicken livers with Dorthy Lynch dressing for apps and they were done just right. The portions were huge and we weren't able to finish all of them. My husband got the Walleye filet that took 30 minutes to cook but was done perfectly, but did have about a dozen bones. I got the side salad with ranch and cottage cheese, both were great. The pies are homemade and I recommend the cherry.

I didn't like my fish basket. It was three small pieces of fish like you would get fish sticks at the store. Only greasier, since they deep-fried them instead of baking them. The ambiance isn't that great. Old posters of Marilyn Monroe, music coming from a CD player with tinny speakers, old flowers in the bathroom. But my wife liked her burger and American fries.
