Crystal Cafe

One of My favorite stops. We are over the road long haul truck drivers. We make a point to stop and stay the night whenever we can get close to the Crystal Cafe. The food is great and the truck can be close to the building and it's clean and the food is good and the staff helpful and nice. An all round great place. I wish there were more places like this on the highways.

Great cashier younger woman who was very friendly and made us feel welcome and noticed she made sure my grand daughter enjoyed her food and even brought her crayons. Only downside I observed another waitress clean 1 table that was our waitresses table and pocketed the money....went and cleared another table and gave our waitress that money. Did let our waitress know what we observed when paying for our meal I also let the cashier get knowledge of this as well. And looked at me in disbelief. I even requested she give the money to the waitress for me she no it's safe to leave on the table. Ummm nope it's not safe so I handed our waitress her tip that she earned. Overall was a positive experience as for the other waitress I guess hopefully learning opportunity

They do such a great job there. They really treat you like family. Jess is an excellent server and takes care of us even when we aren't lucky enough to be in her section.

This is the kind of little roadside place that doesn't look flashy on the outside, but is clean and comfortable and lets the food do the talking. Honest meals, reasonably priced. We went there the first day we were in town and had no trouble deciding to go back the second. Recommended.

Food was good and decently priced. Service was slow and it took a while to get our food.

Went to this place because of Roadfood review and to get my husband Sour Cream and Raisin Pie. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! This place is no good. I would have rather spent the time, money, and gas anywhere else. My daughters' macaroni and cheese was Kraft out of the box and I could have made it better!! My chicken fried steak was no good and the gravy was an awful puke yellow color. The pie had way too much sugar and is not any good either. I can't believe anyone would find this place worth going to.

6 p.m. on Wednesday. Not busy Not Dead. Old-time truck stop. Had their special under $10. Side salad goulash drink and soft-serve ice cream. It might just be me but it seemed like the goulash was a little on salty side. And I couldn't taste any tomato flavor. The good news is it came out to hot. Yes I would eat there again by might not have the goulash

Breakfasts are excellent but the omelettes aren't the best. Avoid the chili omelette. That's not chili! I like their burgers. Quite small and very old fashioned. Their hot roast beef is huge. Pancakes are gigantic but actually cooked well, which is hard on those big pancakes. Their famous for their pies. Meh. Their cream pies have about six inches of that really gross white stuff that was all the rage when I was a kid. If that's your thing, this is your place.

Great place to eat. I had the best beer battered cod I've ever tasted. I parked my truck at the nearby Richardson Mill and had only to walk 10 minutes. That's why I'm giving this place 5 stars!

I eat here a few times a week. Service is mediocre as is the food and the prices are slightly high compared to other restraunts. Water glasses look like they are from the 80s and are beat up and chipped up. Not very appealing. I always leave 5 bucks for a tip in cash. Last night I walked in at 7pm. I sat at a small booth that had dirty dishes and a tip left as there were no clean tables or booths to sit in. It looked like they had been busy but a lot of people had left. There was a fairly good sized group there. The waitress walked up and grabbed the dirty cup and plate and tip and I apologized for sitting at a dirty table and she said no its not your fault. I never engaged in conversation with her again because she never stopped to help me or wash the table off. I watched her clear off other tables for people walking in and bring them clean dishes and pour them coffee for 20 minutes and left. I will never give this establishment another dime. 15 minutes later I was at the Mexican restaurant .5 miles down the street eating hot fajitas. Oh and the free internet at Crystal Oil stopped working a few weeks ago.
