Stopped here on a cross country drive from Oregon to Virginia. We figured this place would be good, but we didn’t expect how amazing it would be. The coffee was exquisite, my loaded oatmeal was KILLER, and the man at the register was sweet and chatty. Definitely take some time to pop in here and support a local business if you’re on a road trip or here for a visit.

EDIT: I accidentally left my wallet here and continued my drive. By the time I realized it, I was 8 hours away. The owner of the shop was so kind as to ship my wallet to my destination in Virginia. 🥺 please stop here and support.

We stopped here on the way through town for breakfast and we are so glad we did! Breakfast sandwiches for the win! I wished I got a third one for my toddler just for herself rather than sharing with her. And their mango smoothie was divine.

Best shop in town! My daily spot for an awesome breakfast sandwich, bagel, soup, coffee, smoothie or whatever. Everything is made from scratch and you can tell they put a lot of love into their food. Tip: Kale smoothies are the bomb and the Bockus breakfast sandwich is where it's at!

Great sandwiches and homemade soups and quiche. I don't drink coffee but there's a huge selection. Great atmosphere. Open mic nights and various musical events are a huge plus. Love it here!

Found this place on a family trip out to Colorado. So glad we did. Great atmosphere, such friendly service, and fantastic food/coffee. Fresh and unique sandwiches, and they source their coffee from a good roaster. Hope to stop back next time I'm out this way.

I was dubious, but we needed to stop for food. Yelp came through yet again. You could have blown me over with a feather when i walked into this place and then saw the menu. Whichever reviewer said it’s a Chicago coffee shop in Nebraska was exactly right. It felt like one of the places in bucktown that serves as a living room. There’s WiFi and lots of big tables, a couch, a piano, and even one random booth. He food menu is excellent. My kale salad was very tasty, as was the soup. They do a full range of coffee drinks and teas and Italian sodas. It looked from the menu like they make fresh chai rather than using a mix, which is awesome. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have a case of good looking pastries. There’s street parking outside. I was a tiny bit bummed we weren’t in the area for long and I couldn’t try more of their stuff or be around for some live music.

I love bringing friends to try some quality food that you can only find in North Platte.

This place is a gem weather you want coffee a good meal or just a place to kick back and hang out.

The espresso shop is the definition of a spark of light in a dark place.

The Espresso Shop is an unexpected find. It is hip, down-home, funky, sweet, and affordably-priced. It is an earnest young restaurant, coffeehouse, and music venue. It appears to be a remarkable oasis on the high prairie.

The food was very creative, and the staff was sharp and friendly. We took our lunch to go but hung around long enough to see a bustling community gathering place.

The chicken salad in the croissant sandwich was fresh and creamy, full of big chunks of perfectly cooked chicken breast. There were also crunchy veggies, and something fruity (grapes?). The croissant was high-quality and stood up well to the job of holding the chicken salad.

The fish tacos (Friday special) were light, crunchy, fish-flavorful, and only mildly spicy. The home-made red pepper tortillas needed more cooking (and perhaps a titch more salt).

We got the sandwich and tacos, plus a drink and a coffee, all for $16, which we thought was pretty cheap. The food was worth way more than what we paid.

While we were deciding about our order we got to see the owner (Brandon Rabe) offer a taste of the taco filling to an elderly woman, who was concerned about how spicy it might be. We like that kind of customer service: honest, caring, accommodating.

Keep it up, Brandon.

I cant suggest a better place to embody downtown North Platte!!

Great service and great coffee! Had a great experience visiting for the first time. The atmosphere is welcoming, with a chill vibe. The barista helped us choose our drinks ( would suggest a chai with praline 💚) and showed some awesome merchandise. Definitely a spot that knows good coffee and good service!
