Small hole in the wall, I guess. But good food. Good service. The service hours suck, but hey! It's a small town business. They're closed by 2pm. Food was hot and good size code the price. Refills in my coffee kept coming. Given enough time to order. Recommended. Why three stars then? Because there's nothing else I could compare it to. So it's just your average local diner.

Food was excellent. Service was great, also. My husband had the chicken fried steak, came with mashed potatoes with gravey, green beans and I had the Philly chicken sandwich with fries, both excellent, will definitely come again when we come back through Nebraska city, we are from central Iowa.

this was my first time at Johnny's and we went there because nothing else seemed to be open. I didn't have high expectations but my friend and I were impressed. The staff was very friendly and the food was very good. My friend had a buffet lunch and said it was all very tasty and she was impressed that the mashed potatoes were *real* potatoes and not out of a box. I had a Patty Melt sandwich and the patty looked hand pressed (not out of a pre-packaged box) and was served while it was still sizzling. I would definitely eat there again

Stopped by for Sunday brunch and they had a large local happy crowd. My husband a beef hash breakfast and he loved it. I had a Reuben sandwich and onion rings and all were delicious. Waitresses were very busy but very efficient. If we are ever back this way, we'll stop again.

We had the breakfast buffet for 7.99 all you can eat bacon, sausage, hash browns, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, eggs, pancakes, French toast, and more. I would give it 5 stars but their biscuits and gravy was a little blah. Great service and hometown cafe.

Bad food. Bad service. We gave this place two chances and will never go back. Our waitress was terrible. We were never brought menus after we joined our party. The waitress knew we didn’t have menus and then was irritated that we didn’t know what we wanted. When food arrived, the waitress dropped some of mine off the plate onto the table and told me it would be unsanitary for her to pick it up and then just left. The cole slaw served to my daughter looked like it had mold on it. We also did not receive all of our food, but were charged for it. This is probably because the waitress did not know how to write up the order. We asked for a couple of to-go boxes for the kids before leaving, and were told we owed money for them. This place should not be operating like this.

Breakfast buffet has everything you could ever want...no need to order anything else. You could tell some things had been under the lamp a bit too long though, and the biscuits and pancakes were both pretty dense.

Breakfast was horrible. Brown & Serve sausage pieces that had been warmed so many times they looked frightening. And the waitress seemed completely annoyed that she had to do her job. I would never recommend this places to anyone. Yuck!!!

Food was great, but was given hard time when I requested itemized receipt. Owner chewed out young host for "wasting receipts" and she proceeded to argue with me that my request wasn't necessary. Very unpleasant woman. Felt sorry for young man at cash register.

Food was good but when I paid with debit card the waitress charged $2 extra. She said it's posted on the menus but we didn't have menus as we got the buffet. I thought this was screwy. This should be posted at the register and the waitress could of said something about it before I paid! If I knew this ahead of time I would of wrote a check!
