Looks like a house on the outside, so almost missed this amazing find! Service was amazing (Carmen) and the food even better! Great prices as well. Quite a bummer that they don't serve breakfast!

Got the onion rings (skinny kind) and fried mushrooms for an appetizer. Could have made two meals on just those. Portions are massive but the prices aren't. Even the cole slaw was great. Six-Mile Cafe is a must!

OMG this place is bomb fresh everything I can't say enough about it. I just wish I could go back !!! Some of the best home cooking I've had out here on the road . The folks there will make you feel right at home. And what ever you do get the pie... I had the strawberry roobarb and it was delicious,

Nebraska was one of the few states I had not visited yet. And while working in KC, I found Six Mile Cafe on-line with good reviews and decided on a road trip for lunch on my day off. I was not disappointed. Just a joy to visit, relax, and have a good meal.

I stumbled across this place while wandering across Nebraska on 2 lane roads. It was a couple of miles from a town in 1 direction and 20 miles from a town in the other. From the time I got there just before noon until I left, it was consistently filled with folks that were obviously local. And none of them looked hungry when they left. These were working guys that obviously appreciate good food, plenty of it, and all at a reasonable price.
I ordered chicken fingers (3) with sweet potato fries. I'm used to chicken fingers being about the size of 2 fingers on my hand, but can be even smaller in some places.. These were not...they were more like chicken SLABS! Nice thickness. Each one was as big as the palm of my hand plus my fingers. Each of the 3 were bigger than what you normally get in total! And they didn't scrimp on the fries either. And the coating on the fingers was really nice and crispy.
The white gravy for dipping was tasty and hot. Heaven help me, when I had some gravy left after all that chicken I just ate the remaining gravy with a spoon.

I ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich and the tenderloin was huge and covered the whole plate! It was awesome along with the homemade potato salad!

First off I wanted to apologize to the staff for misreading the hours of operation. I thought they were open until 10 so me and a party of 4 arrived at 7:45 and proceeded to order appetizers, supper, drinks and then dessert. As it turns out they close at 8PM. I know this because as we were leaving at 9:04 I asked our waitress what their hours were.
We got there 15 MINUTES before closing time and stayed AN HOUR AND 4 minutes past and nobody even made mention of it. Not one single member of the staff even hinted at how rude what we were doing was.
So again, I’m sorry for being so unthoughtful with the time of our arrival.
Onto the food. Absolutely incredible. Everyone of our meals were cooked perfectly and beyond expectation. The recommended sides were amazing and the cheese cake for dessert brought it all together. Lastly for the quality and quantity of our food the price was astoundingly cheap.
From the wait staff to the overall experience I would recommend this place to anyone and look forward to my next trip.
