Great place to stay! My children loved learning and seeing such a great piece of history. Employees are very helpful and curtious.

The Café was amazing! As said in another review if you leave hungry that's on you cause the food here was VERY good and filling!

If you want to stay at a hotel that is historic, in a charming town, where you are welcomed as family, this is your spot! Now while this isn't the Ritz, what it lacks on amenities is made up for by the lovely people that run the hotel and the amazing people in the community that make you feel welcome. I can't say enough great things about this time capsule to life past, it is truly a different experience in today's fast paced world. If you get hungry, their restaurant attached to the hotel is a great spot for breakfast or lunch. So, if you are passing through this amazing small town, stop and stay for a night or three!

Wonderful small town place full of history. People who operate it are super nice and there's a cafe on premises that serves the best food! Also serves lattes, fraps, etc. Homemade pie... awesome!

Delicious lunch! Each of us tried a different sandwich and dessert (for the sake of the review, of course, haha!), and we were all pleased with our choices. My kicking’ chicken was great, and I’m looking forward to trying more on the menu.

I stayed here about 20 years ago, and when I drove by I thought it was originally a building in a ghosttown, but the lights were on. And it said "lodge" so I thought I would at least look inside. When I asked if they had rooms and they said "yes" I was actually surprised!
The room turned out to be like a time capsule from 1949. It was clean, but everything was definitely well loved. I enjoyed just wandering the building. I am happy to see that it is still in existence.

I am happy the owners are preserving such an special era in time. It is unique rustic period. We stayed on first floor. A/C and bed were great. However the walls are "paper" thin and one hears all guests going up & down halls, in and out of rooms and kids playing movies and games in their rooms through wee hours. Not good for a good night's rest. The cafe's breakfast was great and the staff very attentive.

Awesome hotel. We hiked the cowboy trail and stayed here the first night. If you're biking this is the place for you. The hotel decor is really cool all restored from the original version. The restaurant attached is great! I have no complaints. The shower was hot and the bed was good. The owners are doing a great job with this place! And the restaurant has lattes and espresso and all sorts of coffees, I was not expecting to find that here.
