You can't go to Rolla without eating at Maid-Rite!
Now they even have a $5 special with a burger, fries, drink, and ice cream. Hard to beat that!

Honestly, it's not the same as it once was. For me the food is either good or it's not. Sad but that's been my experience and I've eaten there since I was young.

First you have to understand what this place is doing. This is an old school fast food joint that specializes in loose meat burgers, fries, and excellent milkshakes. This is comfort food at its best and I love to stop here on the way back to Columbia from the Current River.

The cheese rites were okay, just okay. However, we also got chili cheese fries that came with One Fry and the chili looked like it had been sitting in that same cup for hours. I did give them three stars for the Good Customer Service tho.

A true icon tucked away in Rolla Mo!
In 1926 Maid Rite began making these unique sandwiches and the are still just as tasty today.
No my fellow Missourians it is not just sloppy joe meat without the sauce, these unique loose meat sandwiches have a little something extra that makes them delicious. Don't be afraid add pickles and your preferred condiment.
And if you are looking for classic deep fried perfection:
Onion Rings.
or Mushrooms
or Fries. Really anything here is delicious!
Nothing fancy or frilly just a sandwich... (Made) Maid Right!
Google of the chains humble beginnings in Iowa and go enjoy a sandwich thats been around waaay before a Whopper or Big Mac!

I got the chicken meal and it was OK Actually it was pretty good. My husband however ordered the barbecue beef sandwich and He was not happy with it at all. The biscuit was too fatty and there was way too much barbecue sauce .. so much so that the bun was soggy.

Excellent chili!
Friendly, family operation.
Unique burgers - meat is not in a patty - the beef has much better flavor than chain-restaurants.

This place should be called Maid-Alrite. Their unique burgers are pretty good, but recently I tried the fried chicken. I must say, it's not amazing. Definitely better off with KFC or Lee's out of the options in town. As for the burgers, there was only one time I was dissatisfied and that was using the drive thru. Most of our burgers were soggy that time and they ignored most of our special requests. Overall, meh.

Maid Rite has finally come back around to the best for a great, steamed meat hamburger or cheeseburger. They had lost their way for a few years by cutting corners and scrimping on the amount of meat on your burger. I've been so happy to find that they have gone back to using top grade burger meat and top grade seasonings. I can't get enough of Maid-Rite!
