I have never in my life left a Google review on any establishment, but Parkville Coffee has earned this one. I try my best to avoid this place because the experience is never good, but gave it another try today solely because Incahoots down the road was closed. The staff acts as though they hate their customers, never greeting anybody and never saying thank you (I regret leaving a tip) and they seem to feel nothing but contempt for their clientele. The owner responds to low reviews claiming that customer service is important to them and the staff will be informed, but obviously this is never taken to heart as this has exclusively been my experience every time I've has the misfortune to patronize Parkville Coffee over the years. Working for my family's small business, it is astounding to me that Parkville Coffee is still open, as I would be out of a job if I treated my clients with this level of disdain. We were not singled out for this treatment, every other customer in the building was staring at their shoes and seemed afraid to talk above a whisper. In hindsight, I should have just made my coffee at home, it would have tasted like actual coffee in stead of watered down milk and my Keurig doesn't scream woke leftist talking points and platitudes at me. It's not mandatory to advertise your political opinions to everyone within shouting distance. I'm not being hyperbolic, seriously, the signs are ridiculous. If you're looking for coffee in Parkville, please patronize Incahoots or the Please Stop! gas station down the road. You won't immediately learn the political leanings of the barista, and you'll be treated like a paying customer as opposed to a nuisance.

We don't make it up to Parkville very often, but each time we have we have stopped at this coffee shop. Each time the staff was really friendly and we enjoyed the food and drinks.

Love this coffee shop. Thank you for requiring masks. Since your shop is so little, my daughter cannot be vaccinated and It makes us feel more comfortable when getting our morning favorites. Try the smoothies, they’re amazing!

Fantastic coffee and atmosphere! The staff are incredibly welcoming and make you feel right at home. The only bad reviews on here seem to be from people upset about masks, but that makes me trust the establishment even more. Must stop here if you’re in the northland!

I have been going here since it opened and I am NEVER disappointed. The cover is incredible. The staff is always so nice and welcoming, the building is beautiful. Their food is so so good. I would go and study here everyday before school and it was always the best way to start my day.

As a life long parkville native I have always loved, supported and valued the small business feel of parkville coffee. I also work in parkville and always show my parkville pride . Since the start of the pandemic I have appreciated their efforts to keep the community safe the way they feel best. Although I may not agree with the mandates personally I feel a business should run it the way they feel best. I have personally seen and felt the negative customer service regarding the masks. I have chosen to start supporting another parkville coffee shop after numerous times of the customer service being cold and unfriendly. I have chosen to not share my experiences as it wasn’t my business. Although after hearing multiple similar stories from clients coming to my place of work and sharing how “rude the baristas are” has made me sad for the parkville happy vibe. If someone comes in without a mask please don’t scold them. They are adults. Kindly and friendly say “hello! How is your day? I would love to help you but we do require masks in the shop! There is some by the door if you could please put one on.” That’s it. I have experienced nothing but rude and cold communication from behind the plexiglass. We have to love one another more. Make someone’s day!

Seemed like a pretty okay place. Caveat: I seek out specialty coffee shops around town and when traveling, so I have very high standards.

Menu and baked goods both looked good, but I didn't get a chance to try them. Did not get to see the interior (Covid) but the storefront is cute and service was pleasant. We ordered a 12 oz latte and a brewed coffee. The coffee was fine. The latte was disappointing and the espresso taste bland, but not unpleasant at least. Note: they use starbucks' scale, so a 12 oz latte has one shot, 16 oz has two, etc.

Overall I would return if in the area for a time (visiting the Parkville Nature Sanctuary, for example). There are really no other options nearby. But I wouldn't go out of my way to visit Parkville Coffee. Wish them the best of luck and hope for more education and training to elevate their product.

I've been to Parkville Coffee many times, and it is my favorite coffee shop in the KC metro area. The coffee is excellent, and the owner and staff genuinely care about their customers and community. They have been challenged by the impact COVID has had on their business, but have adapted and persevered. Not only great coffee but a wonderful spirit.

We are so lucky to have this coffee shop in our town of Parkville. The coffee is great, the bacon croissant is the best in KCMO, and it is the only place I can find that will make a sugar-free mocha (my addiction). Parkville Coffee has been a cornerstone business in downtown Parkville for years now. Thank you for all you do for our community, including for writers and artists!
