My wife and I are St. Louis residents who love nothing more than to spend a Saturday sitting at various coffee shops sipping and reading. During an impromptu weekend trip to Hannibal, we had basically nothing planned and hoped we could find a cozy little coffee shop in the downtown area to hang out at for several hours.

I am not sure Java Jive could be called "cozy", but it's certainly charming, quirky, unique, and fun. The decorating, the seating, the general vibe, etc. is honestly very strange and unexpected, but by the end I decided I really liked it. It's clearly a communal hub for locals and tourists alike, and it's location in the middle of main street couldn't be better. The coffee itself is not over-the-top high-end, but it does the trick, and there are treats, food options, and ice cream to boot. We went at the beginning and end of each day, content to sip on some caffeine and to marvel at this strange but lovely Hannibal establishment.

This place is so unique I even ran into all the Tom and Beckys! LOL The drinks are always hot and the food is always good! The Chicken salad is my favorite in town! LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH!

Quiches are always delicious, flaky homemade crust filled high with light airy eggs and whatever other ingredients are in the day's flavor. I always make sure to take some baked goods home!

Just had a snickers coffee and it was delicious.

This is a delightful coffee stop treasure in this part of MO.
Coffee options mean you get what you want. Decent prices mean it’s fine if you want double.
Food tastes homemade and selection was fantastic. Seating is varied: soft sofas to working tables.
Bonus is to be served your meal in the Ayers pottery collection: if you ever needed encouragement to browse the collection showcased in store, this will provide the prompt.
Parking is free and on street outside. It’s open from 6am, and if you’re up at that hour, go for the punchiest coffee - it’s divine.

Amazing place. We got cappuccino with 2 shots expresso and candy cane latte.

Very good coffee! We are from Kansas city and this place is awesome

This place is great. The coffee and donut for breakfast was so good that we went back for lunch. Was not disappointed. The Hart Bent-On bagel sandwich was really good. So was the Hopper. I recommend the White Milky Way latte too.

Wonderful! My parents took my sister and I to Java Jive during a family vacation over 15 years ago. Their frozen cappuccinos were the best we had ever had. We have often talked about returning there and so today decided to do so. The coffee did not disappoint!

The place is very cozy and has a fun vibe. We ordered a bit of everything and we weren’t disappointed of the menu. The raspberry cream pastry was delicious.

Be mindful of peak hours as it tends to get very crowded and line can be a little long to wait.

Their cinnamon twists are awesome! Great coffee, sweet tea and wraps as well.
