Darwell's Cafe

Yum! I highly recommend this place for delicious food and fun atmosphere. It was a great way to experience the "local flavor" as well as have a delectable meal. This as a CASUAL restaurant, so children as well as kids at heart are welcome here. The main main dishes that my husband and I ordered contained baked, cooked or steamed seafood (nothing deep fried,) and our desert, which we shared, was a huge ice brownie topped with ice cream. Pure decadence! We highly recommend this to anyone passing through Long Beach, MS.

The food is always good with a fun, laid back atmosphere. There was a mix up with our to go order, which I'm sure they would have corrected if I had brought it back. Won't be my last time eating at Darwell's..

Edit: I had to go back and bump this rating up to 5 stars. This is my #1 go to spot for good food in Long Beach. The Crawfish Etouffe and Yum Yum Pasta are incredible!

My first time eating here yesterday. Ordered the craw daddy burger. It was amazing!! The whole experience from the greeting at the door, the guy who took my order, drink server, cook, owner. It was the best experience!! Will definitely be back.

What do you want to know? The menu is large, almost something for everyone. The seafood is fresh, meals come fast, and wait it has flavor. There is no deep fried foods here, that takes from the flavor of the actual food. Outside seating, inside seating, and the customer service is on point. My opinion has been given, now come eat.

Outdoor dining patio is decorated with lights and ample seating for large groups! The music was very entertaining along with a great selection of dinner items! The staff is animated and friendly!! Enjoy your visit here while you are in Long Beach or the Coast!!

We went to Darwell's to celebrate my father's birthday. My parents had gone several times before and raved about it. I was seriously surprised with how amazing our experience was as soon as we walked in the door! We were greeted by a really nice guy at the counter who explained all of our options and had many great recommendations. We are very indecisive and he was more than patient. He even brought over a sample of the etoufee, which was so overwhelmingly delicious, that sealed the deal. We went with the blackened catfish and the crab cakes, both with the etoufee. Just delicious! Service was on point, food was excellent, and I can't wait to bring our family again!

We just visited this dining establishment and I have to say since moving here 5 months ago, it is by far now our new favorite dining out place. We've been looking for a fun, funky, chill atmosphere with phenomenal food and this place didn't let us down. The cuisine was delicious, the staff were friendly and service was fast and efficient. Prices were very appropriate. I liked everything about the place, and we will be back again and again!

The food is a bit pricey for the type of Gulf South local cuisine served, but it is very good for what it is. Would rate it as excellent were the prices slightly more reasonable.

That said, for where the price-range falls, the food is just very good and I reserve the right to another level or category for restaurants which are phenomenal - even though a table of four will cost well over $100.

Darwell's is the best restaurant I've been to in all of Long Beach in the year I've lived here.
