Krispy Kreme: A Longtime Chain Serving Donuts, Coffee, and More
Krispy Kreme is a popular donut shop, bakery, coffee shop, and dessert shop located in Columbus, Mississippi. The chain has been serving its famous Original Glazed Doughnut since it opened in Winston-Salem, NC in 1937. Today, Krispy Kreme delights fans across the globe with its wide variety of donut flavors and shapes, plus coffee and frozen drinks.
The shop sells a variety of freshly made doughnuts, including the iconic Original Glazed Doughnut, as well as hand-crafted espresso-based specialty coffee drinks and brewed coffee. Customers can watch the doughnut-making process in the unique doughnut theater, which allows them a first-hand look at how the doughnuts are made. The iconic Hot Light lets fans know when doughnuts are coming down the line, and is a signal to stop in for fresh, warm doughnuts.
Krispy Kreme is open seven days a week, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The staff is usually friendly and helpful, and the service is prompt. However, some customers have reported issues with the staff's attitude and the quality of the doughnuts. Some customers have also complained about false advertising, as the shop sometimes does not have the specials advertised. Additionally, some customers have reported issues with redeeming gift cards and coupons.
Despite these occasional issues, Krispy Kreme remains a popular destination for donut lovers in Columbus. If you're in the mood for a sweet treat or a cup of coffee, Krispy Kreme is definitely worth a visit.
From the business
"Krispy Kreme has been selling our famous Original Glazed Doughnut since we opened in Winston-Salem, NC in 1937. Still our most popular and best-selling product, this glazed, yeast-raised doughnut now delights fans across the globe. We still make all of our doughnuts fresh daily, a process which can be seen in our doughnut factory. Our unique doughnut theater allows customers a first-hand look at how our doughnuts are made. The iconic Hot Light lets fans know when doughnuts are coming down the line, and is a signal to stop in for fresh, warm doughnuts. Our shop sells a variety of freshly made doughnuts as well as hand-crafted espresso based specialty coffee drinks and brewed coffee."

Worst krispy kreme I've ever been to. They never have the specials advertised. I've been three times over the last year and was unable to purchase what I came for. Today I went and once again none of the donuts advertised for the 4th. I got a dozen glazed and they were nothing like krispy kreme donuts. The texture was like philo dough and they tasted like old cooking oil. I have no idea how this place stays open. There were at least 6 employees in there doing nothing.

For the past three weeks in a row we went to Krispy Kreme between 4:30pm and 5:30 pm. Last weekend it was Chocolate glazed day. When we got to the store we were told they were sold out and had no donuts. Everyone was just standing around laughing. There were a lot of people there wanting to get donuts. Everyone was upset.

I love Krispy Kreme, but I just had the worst experience there! Why? Because the lobby is closed! I wanted to buy an assortment of donuts (thinking I could see what is available), but it is SO hard to do that in a drive through! I couldn’t understand what they were saying and they were confused as to what I was saying too. It was frustrating and not an enjoyable experience at all! Please open your lobby back up!!!!

They are very accommodating with delicious donuts! We were in a big truck and couldn’t go through the drive through, so even though the lobby was closed the workers brought our donuts out to us! They went above and beyond.

I have visited the location in Columbus, MS several times. Each time I have went, I have been told that several types of doughnuts that are on the menu, are not available.
Tonight, I decide to give them one more chance. When, I pulled up they greeted me politely and asked to take my order. I asked them to wait just for a few minutes, while my family and I decided what kind we wanted. Several minutes later they came back on and said, "we are closed". We decided to leave and we will not be back to this location.

I was pleased the times I was able to purchase doughnuts. However, lately they are short on doughnuts. Also, I assume they close at 7PM. I drove up at 6:50PM and waited four minutes. Nobody responded. I drove off and observed employees inside the business. I am lost for words. Does anyone know of a self-starter doughnut business in Columbus I could support?

A few days ago I gave the store 3 stars and explained why. Today, after my chemo, I went back to the store and the problem had been addressed and fixed ! Great donuts and great service ! Thanks for being there during this difficult time for me !

Love the donuts but everytime I go there it seems to be they don't have something and staff does not make it any better with the attitude some of them have especially the person that work in drive thru
