I nice cozy spot to have a beer and some unique comfort food. Quite tasty. Can get busy, so not recommend if you are in a rush

Overrated breakfast. We waited over an hour for a family of 4 to have breakfast after being told it would be 20-30 minutes. The staff was friendly but completely overwhelmed and inexperienced even with a half empty dining room. The food tasted freezer burnt and we had to repeatedly ask to get our full order. The only redeeming quality was the fried eggs were actually cooked correctly (which is sad that for a breakfast place that is rated over 4 stars on Google can only do eggs correctly).

We ate there 3 times while on vacation up on the North Shore a month ago, all 3 times were for breakfast, all 3 times extremely satisfied, they were down a cook our first time there, would never had known. Timely, huge and delicious portions, another gem on 61 ❤😁💯

Had a nice brunch here as we visited the North Shore. The place was busy and admittedly understaffed, but overall the experience was favorable. I enjoyed my chicken fried steak and bloody mary and my wife enjoyed her large wild rice omelette.

Definitely lives up to the hype! Our beakfast was delicious and served promptly. The menu had a very reasonable selection and I didn't get the feeling that anything was frozen. I would 100% recommend the Vanilla Bean to anyone!

The Hash was amazing! I went in there with a big appetite and it did the trick. They give you what seems like a half pound of corned beef cooked just right over a bed of potatoes and veggies. The English muffins seemed to be home made and probably the best I've had to date. The breakfast was worth every penny and the service was fast and polite. I can't wait to come back!

Very rude lady greeted us on the morning of 6/18/22. We walked in simply to get a couple of lattes and we wanted to sit outside on the patio to drink it. She said we can only sit outside if we ordered food. WHAT?! I have sat outside plenty of times drinking coffee. I then said, "fine, we will take menus and order our lattes from the menu". For whatever reason she threw her hands up in the air and stomped off to the kitchen. A minute or so later a young woman came out and said the rude lady would be right back. But did the young woman take our order? NO. She proceeded to ask the group in line BEHIND us what they wanted. We left and we will never return. The staff there is seemingly clueless when it comes to service. For an optimal coffee experience and friendly staff, go to Cedar Coffee.

The food was good, 2 people could eat for $30.00

Comfortable, tasty, and affordable - the trifecta for a good brunch! They nailed it here. We had 2 toddlers in tow, and the Vanilla Bean staff quickly accommodated us.

Good, hearty breakfasts. Like everywhere in Northern Minnesota these days it's suffering from staffing issues, so expect to wait. Definitely not their fault, though (in fact, I was reading the ad for their line cook position and it seems they want to treat their employees well).
