Lumen Coffee

Absolute best coffee shop in Rochester. I'm shamelessly trying to imitate their breakfast blender at home as it's the best thing that's ever walked into my life. If you order the right stuff (and don't splurge on the large godsent breakfast blender) they can be very affordable and you have access to a few options from Daubes bakery even if your hungry!

Delicious coffee and fresh empanadas!! Glad we FINALLY had the chance to stop! We always either were in a hurry or they were closed when we passed by it in the past. But now we will make sure to go that way more often to get a tasty treat!!!

Let me start by saying I love the flavor of their coffee. So good! However a few things to let management know about that are minor but could change a customer's experience... when I get an iced drink the cup it comes in is overflowing which is great except for when one tries to put the straw in. This results in coffee pouring out of the spout and all over the cup and maybe all over you and the inside of your car. Secondly the straws used are fairly thin which ends up being pinched in the lid. If I was trying to drink a frozen drink it'd make it hard to drink. Lastly I get a bunch of other coffee places have started giving the option to leave a tip. Tipping has gotten out of control imo. We're at a drive thru. Additionally if it's an option to leave a tip... having the barrista asking if you want to leave a tip is awkward and fairly forthright, especially before service and coffee have even been delivered. One could leave a tip to just find out they shouldn't have left a tip. Anyways just wanted to share a few things that could up the experience at lumens.

Lumen is a quick, convenient stop on my way to work in the morning, however every now and again I'm disappointed with the drink quality. This morning my Dark Choc Iced Mocha was awful... the flavor was more like dirt than chocolate and my drink was gritty and slimy at the same time? From my time as a barista, my assumption is they haven't properly cleaned the espresso machine and the chocolate syrup wasn't well mixed into the drink...

TLDR; Convenient but not consistently good.

Favorite neighborhood coffee. Good flavored coffee, deep and rich with no bitterness or acid. Favorites=coconut miel, vanilla latte, and pumpkin spice.

My other favorite coffee shop in town! Very friendly staff, the most amazing coffee with she unique flavors! The fluffanutor is simply delicious and they have a great rewards program! I cannot get enough of this place and the prices are so great!

Fantastic local coffee shop offering a wide variety of caffeinated treats! They also carry Daubies pastries and donuts! Nom nom nom!

I wish I lived closer to the north side so I could go here more often! The customer service is outstanding. They have options for all types of coffee drinkers. I had got a flavored latte here a while ago, and it was far too sweet and only lukewarm. I went back through the drive through to explain my situation and the lady working was so apologetic and got my order perfect! She also gave me a coupon for the trouble. I really appreciate the this type of service where they go above and beyond to ensure happiness to their customers. I also really like supporting local businesses as they collaborate with businesses around the area (Daube’s, Kappers Big Red Barn, etc)

Lumen coffee is Amazing. 5 stars all the way. Taylor, the barista there, went out of her way to craft a special coffee treat drink that made my sister's day and had perfectly recommended an iced coffee that i will certainly order on the regular! Furthermore I got to sample an experimental blended concoction that was very good as well. Personalized care blended with an amazing adventurous attitude makes for a recipe for success! 5- star job!
