Found this place just surfing Google Maps. Decided to stop by to do some studying and work. I think it’s one of my favorite coffee shops in the twin cities now. Great interior design and vibes. Enjoyed the North Shore Latte I got (part of the winter menu, had brown sugar syrup and cardamom bitters). Would recommend coming here! There’s also a pastry bakery right next door which is convenient if you’d like to get a pastry there and coffee here. From some of the photos online, I thought it was going to be smaller but it was bigger than I expected and had plenty of seating and tables for studying. Music is pleasant and a tad quieter than some shops which I prefer.

Support more local coffee shops vs. the big names. I say this as the coffee is better tasting, aromatic, and helping the business & community. I ordered the Sweet Heat Mocha which is a mocha with honey and cayenne pepper, plus oat milk. It appeals to the senses on the tongue. Not a fan of spicy, try the smoked salt mocha!

Delicious coffee! Very smooth and flavorful. They have maple as a syrup option, so I recommend to get maple lattes. They have some fun specials too like strawberries and cream latte. Almond milk is not an option, but they do have oat. The space is huge with plenty of seating. It's pretty quiet here compared to other places, which is nice. They do close early by 2pm, so keep that in mind.

Pretty good pour-over. Didn't taste any notes of flavor when hot but as it cooled it got better. The shop has a pretty large space but not a lot of personality. It looks like they are either expanding or renovating though so it could just be a work in progress. I would go back!

Good coffee and used to be a great atmosphere. But they still require masks despite the city lifting restrictions. Doesn't make much sense considering no one was wearing a mask once they got to their table. If you are requiring masks, probably should just do to go. We were impolitely asked to put on masks as we entered, despite the other 20 people in the coffee shop not wearing them. Won't be returning, as there are more pleasant places to hang out.

NC has a beautifully crafted, creamy, lightly roasted cappuccino. Yum. They used to share this space with the Angry Catfish (which is now in a separate building down the) and that was a cool combo = Surly bikes and good coffee. So all that space is now a big roomy coffee shop with a few reminders of the bike shop. Bygones. So a really good place to sit and have a coffee. And a very tasty coffee indeed. Parking is on the street. Great place.

Cortado and cold brew in winter. Both are great! The berry peach is just okay. The place here is very spacious and there are lots of peripheral products.

This is one of my favorite coffee shops! This shop has a warm and cozy ambience that is great for studying or getting work done.
However what really sets Northern Coffeeworks apart is their selection of well-crafted drinks. The espresso has a rich, smooth, and well-balanced flavor profile. The lattes are beautifully layered, with a nice balance of espresso, steamed milk, and foam. Most importantly, their drinks are always consistent!
Overall, I would highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone looking for a great selection of well-done drinks or just a great place to get some work done.

Fav coffee shop for the chill vibes, Nordic Industrial aesthetic, and incredible coffee. Maple oat latte slaps
