On a big roadtrip and along the way trying hometown coffee places like Brewed Awakening and they are definitely near the top of the list in terms of coffee! I had a hot butternut. Wasn't overly sweet which is very telling of a coffee place! Really neat place, top notch coffee.

Such a disappointing experience today. I stop here 3 or 4 times a year (whenever I come through Grand Rapids). We like their soups, their sandwiches, the frappucinos, the baked goods (tiramisu, carrot cake, oatmeal cookies, ginger cookies, breads, etc.), and gelato.
Today I called them to see if they still had tiramisu, because it's later in the day; the girl assured me that they did have it, and asked if I'd be coming to get some. I responded in the affirmative, and as I was just a couple blocks away, I walked through their door not more than 2 minutes later.
The young man at the sandwich counter looked up at me, then quickly looked back down at the counter. The girl in the coffee area glanced at me, but turned back to whatever she was doing.
I figured she was finishing up an order for someone, so I waited. The guy at the sandwich counter came out and walked behind me, to the dining area.
The young woman looked my way a couple more times, but kept turning away from me. She started wiping down the counter, like she was finishing up. I thought she'd be addressing me shortly, but she moved over to the soup area and started wiping the counter.
I gave up and left at that point, having never been acknowledged by either employee in any way, despite them both looking at me multiple times.
It was the strangest visit I have ever had anywhere. Normally, the staff here is friendly, courteous, and helpful. It was so weird.
I sure hope this is not the new trend. 😔

Brewed boasts great service, delicious food and dessert options, excellent coffee and tea options, and I cozy and clean atmosphere. I go here for study sessions, hanging out with a friend or just going to read a book with a cup of coffee in the corner booth. It's amazing.

Very niche place, not busy, but the staff doesn't seem to communicate and work together, all items came out at different times. The sandwich was lackluster and could be compared to gas station quality. The quiche was bland despite having ingredients that should be very flavorful. Drinks were the same, bland. The only respectable and flavorful item was the soup which was off beat choice of ingredients, but at least kind of enjoyed. Save your money and move on if you are looking for home town environment.

These guys understand hospitality. They start with fresh ingredients. Everything is made with care and quality. Choice of amazing soups or chili every day. Fresh bread. They go out of their way to make it right the first time when it comes to the coffee drinks but are not afraid to fix it your way if you ask. This is a find for anyone visiting GR. Best coffee in town!!!!!

Lovely little coffee shop with sandwiches and light meals. Don't by their sweet baked goods however. They're mostly tasteless. But their ham and cheese sandwich is absolutely the best anywhere. And the homemade soups are amazing . I can't speak to their quiche or other light meals as I've never had them.

We have family in northern Minnesota, so it is a tradition to stop here on the drive up north for coffee, lunch, dessert, bread, gelato, or whatever we are in the mood for. They have a great selection and many unique options. The atmosphere is friendly and cozy. I wish we could come more often! It's always a treat to stop here.

Very good. Healthier options and family all agreed the coffee concoctions were way better than Starbucks. We will def go back. Coffee breakfast and lunch options.we had the spinach quiche, ham and cheese breakfast sandwich and an orange poppyseed slice of bread.

Adorable!! We stopped for the Gelato after a warm hike and were so charmed by this cafe. We'd visit again for coffee or other treats in a heartbeat! Even there merch was original and stylish.

I'm in love with this place! The coffee is so tasty! A super extensive menu of coffee shop items, and food as well. I only tasted the samples on the counter, but if those are anything to go by, their treats are amazing!
Very friendly staff.
Tons of seating space and arrangements.
When I come back to town for visits, this will be my place! Thanks!
