Ordered the warm turkey meal. Mash potatoes were reconstituted dehydrated without any flavor. Gravy from a packet. Sliced compressed turkey meat. Love their breakfasts but this was just... what???

This meal reminded me of high school cafeteria chow.

Had breakfast there on a Monday morning. 10-15 minute wait, but food was worth it and staff was very efficient at cleaning tables and placing/serving their orders, so you can get in and out in a reasonable time. Good sized portions, great taste. One pancake on the side was almost a meal in itself. You will not leave here hungry! Wait staff was very pleasant. Diner next to us had the Swedish pancake, and that will need to be what I order next time.

****Edit: I was here about 20 minutes before this review was written. It wouldn't let me respond to the restaurants response.****** Been here multiple times, every year at least twice. Cheep and usually okay. Today I witnessed staff audibly laugh after getting a complaint from a customer about service and food, as soon as the customer walked out of the door. My waitress spoke so quietly that I couldn't understand her and had to keep saying "what". My burger tasted like old meat that had gone off, and my fries tasted like they'd been rolling around with fish. Woman next to me came in at the same time as me and didn't get her order taken until I got my food... I understand that this is more of a diner, though it clearly doesn't value customers. Won't be returning after hearing them laugh at someone who was unhappy with their order and how they were treated.

Second time here, and very positive experience both times. Terrific wait staff. Great prices (considering it's Grand Marais, I'd say the prices are downright cheap). Food is simple but delicious, served hot and made to order. Had the poutine fries both visits, and while I'm no expert on this Canadian treat, I'd say they were pretty damn good. Restrooms were clean.
I'll definitely be back!

The food was excellent. I got the just for fun breakfast which is picture. It was amazing. My wife order the cranberry wild rice French toast with sausage patties. The French toast was excellent. The food was brought out hot and delicious. The restaurant was busy but not to busy where bvb you couldn't find a table. I look forward to going back the next time I'm in Grand Marais.

So good! Loved the eggs Benedict.

We tried the poutine burger. Oh so delicious. Was hoping to get back there but the hours have been shortened due to staffing issues.

They have by far the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had!! The way they sliced the Canadian bacon was what really made it for me!

Came up from Two Harbors for a Valentine's trip with my wife, and we're glad we stopped here for breakfast! Generous portions, our food was perfectly cooked, and we both thought the pancakes were the best we'd ever had (they're made completely from scratch). We'll be back for sure.

Blue Water Cafe rules. We had breakfast and it was one of those meals where even when you’re too full, you feel the need to finish every last delicious bite. I had the angler sunrise- fried walleye, hash browns, an egg, and pancakes and my boyfriend had the voyager omelette. We had to share because both looked and tasted so good. Prices are incredibly decent, coffee is good, and the service is very friendly and we felt taken care of. Seems like a local favorite and tourists are not taken advantage of by the prices or portions. I will definitely direct friends their way if they’re on the north shore!
