My 2 egg omelet and English muffins were delicious. The Waitress was very kind she let me substitute sausage for the ham & the Service was excellent. The food was very reasonable & very fresh

Excellent food and service! Great for just about anything you want and more for a small town local cafe!

We stopped for lunch had a Swiss topper burger and fries and a crispy chicken salad both were good. The waitress Barb was very pleasant.

If you are passing through Garrison and you don't stop at the Spotlight, get some rest and make sure to come back the next morning for a hot breakfast.
What is there to say when a diner does everything you want it to except, 'I'll be back' ?
Amazing service & personality from the staff, and all the comfort and care you want going into those country classics.
Get what looks good to you. The whole menu is a hit.

It's a decent place. But, I ordered a steak to be cooked medium; it was cooked very rare. Took a while to get the waitress's attention.

I’ve lived around the area my entire life, and for some odd reason decided to eat breakfast at Spotlite Cafe in Garrison, Minnesota. It was the worst mistake I made all day, besides the extremely outdated interior there was extremely poor service when I and my relative made to pay the check.
The cashier didn’t use her words, instead pointing one digit at us as if we were supposed to know what that meant. Once handing over the ticket the cashier looked it over and asked whose handwriting it was, as if we had done something to it. The suspicion and side eye was unwarranted if not typical for the area.
We paid almost forty dollars for bland and almost tasteless food, our service was poor by our older cashier and I would have to say that the McDonald’s down the road has vastly better service and food for the cost. Even the workers at the McDonald’s show more class and maturity than our cashier today, if you’re thinking about breakfast here. It’s in your best interest to keep it moving, if I could give zero stars, I would.

Went for breakfast...
Both of us ordered sunny side eggs. Yolks came out semi hard and had those nasty crispy edges where it looks like hair. Bacon was over-cooked and whatever they put on there toast was not butter

Didn't think anything of it when we stopped in one morning on our way up north. Now, we make sure we get to Spotlight just about everytime we're heading that direction. It's the only place I consistently get the pancakes. They are top notch.

Wonderful staff, super friendly and FAST service! Mexican omelet was amazing. Breakfast items we've tried are always really good. Did not care for the liver and onions. Broasted chicken was hot, crispy, tender inside but bland. Coleslaw too soupy. Fries were great, too. We're gonna try their burgers next time. Good pies, too!
