UPDATE: I have now been here several times and it has rocked each time. But I am almost embarrassed to say that I hadn't realized that the business across the parking lot from them is also part of the whole experience; Gordy's Warming House! On this visit, I just had a large coffee and some insanely good local ice cream that I can't remember the creamery or the crazy flavor but trust me, it was awesome. So was the coffee. But the atmosphere was even nicer. Hi-Hat is always bustling no mater what time that you go, but during a mid afternoon stop on a Sunday, it was completely chill. We didn't have to rush from our table, so we enjoyed the down time driving back from up north. Sitting, enjoying our coffees, and sharing the paper and thoughts on the headlines; that is what this place seems all about (although I am sure that we couldn't have done that at peak hours).

So the dilemma of deciding weather we hit Gordy's going up or coming back to the cities is solved. Burger and shake going up and coffee and ice cream at the Warming House coming back.

This restaurant is an iconic diner, which is open seasonally only. What a treat! I had a burger with gluten-free bun. Loved it!

First timer from Austin, Tx here -- and it was a delicious meal. We even got to see Gordy in action! The fish sandwich was amazing. The fish was fresh and the batter wasn't overly fried. We we're lucky to also enjoy the seasonal raspberry milkshake, OMG died and went to heaven.

Great place. Loved the burger. The onion rings looked amazing but I only wanted one. Really, who can eat an entire order of rings.

I think his name was Benjamin, he was my server, he was very kind and charismatic. I looked into his eyes and was mesmerized. Would visit again!!

Really classic burger with a cute, little American flag stabbed into it via toothpick. The fries were some of the best I've had. The blackberry shake was definitely homemade and was pretty good. Highly enjoyable experience with a nice patio for such a beautiful day!

I have never received bad food here. The line is usually out the door but, it moves fast and it is worth the wait! The chicken strip order comes with 6 LARGE chicken strips. My boys usually share one because they are so big. The fries are GENEROUS portion sizes (pro tip: DO NOT order a regular fry for everyone at your table- just share the family box or a regular fry for 2 people) .The shakes are awesome and also big enough that my kids are able to split a small one!

Went today on the way back from BWCA. Of course, saw it on Triple D, but knew about this place for years. Fast, prompt service, very friendly and, great burgers
