Quaint cafe with coffee as you like and baked goods. The Vegan Carrot Cake is highly recommended, Yum!

I love a place where you can believe the hype. Was insanely busy when we got in, and our coffee came quick and absolutely perfect without too long of a wait. All the workers were nice and helpful and made sure you felt comfortable ordering the right drink. You should sneak in a visit somewhere during your trip in Saugatuck.

The accommodations due to Covid did make this place feel a tad cramped. Although I don't blame the store for this in the slightest, it did affect my coffee getting experience. Other than that, the coffee was great, and the pastries were good. The staff was friendly a relatively knowledgeable. A very enjoyable experience.

This little place was a gem and great find in the quiet little town of Saugatuck on the water. We stopped in for coffee to go and it was delicious. Lots of seating indoors and a covered area to sit outdoors. Not a lot going on in the town but glad we found great coffee!

Went there expecting a warm and welcoming environment, based on other reviews. However, the staff was rude and arguably incompetent (not sure how it took 30 minutes to place an order and then another 30 to get two drinks and a breakfast sandwich). At one point while we were waiting, we saw a filthy man wearing a bandana on his head emerge from some back area to yell something at the entire cafe about how people without dogs can’t use the outside window and that’s why things were moving so slowly…which I think in his mind was an apology for the horrendous wait time, but really was blaming people for the cafe’s lack of efficiency. Either way, it was off-putting, and I naively prayed to all the gods, both old and new, that he wasn’t the person handling peoples’ food. The drinks were not worth the wait or the money and the sandwich tasted like regrets and a wasted hour of my life. I’d assume the macaroons taste like broken dreams and misanthropy. It seems like the owner is kind and the place is supposed to be a sort of safe space, but it felt like the staff all hated working there. Their attitudes made me feel like I was imposing on them, and it appears that many others have been given the same expression. If you’re staying in Saugatuck and want to visit a cute local spot, try it out; hopefully you luck out and go on a day that that aforementioned bandana guy is being given his city hall-mandated monthly bath by the local fire department.

Amazing drip coffee! Friendly staff. Cute outdoor seating for people watching.

This place is amazing. It's warm and cozy in the winter. In the warmer months there is a garden seating area in the back that's fantastic. The coffee tastes great. They offer a variety of vegan, gluten free, and dairy free drinks and snacks. I regularly drive about an hour to be here, have coffee, and do homework. The atmosphere is everything I'm looking for, and Saugatuck is a great town.

I haven't had such pleasant and good service in a long time. I stopped in for coffee this morning before going to work. The barista at the counter was finishing up getting the order for the customer in front of me but still greeted me and asked me how I was, which lead to a brief, very pleasant exchange. As I was waiting for her to complete the previous order, another barista came to the counter and proceeded to take my order, being just as friendly and pleasant. After I got my order and was about to step away from the counter, I said my usual "thank you" and was (very pleasantly) surprised that the barista said "thank you" in response. No employee says that any more, and it really set my day off in a wonderful way. So, thank you both once again, but just as much for your courtesy. I hope that whoever reads this will take this to heart and impress upon other employees the importance of letting the customer know that they are appreciated for patronizing the business.

I have worked in coffee for 10 years so I can’t help but go to coffee shops when I see them on vacation. Uncommon Coffee Roasters is wonderful. Being open during COVID19 is tricky, but their set up and service is wonderful. I felt safe and cared for with the signage, the protective barriers, and the friendly socially distanced service. I got an oat cortado (milk well texturized, spro was balanced with its tasting notes of brown sugar, orange, and chocolate), a 10oz drip- tasted like it may have been a blend? Wasn’t able to ask what was brewing, but it was yum. Good body, balanced caramelized sugars with fruit acidity. We also got the Blueberry Blast smoothie with local honey. Choice. Highly recommend.
Sat in the garden seating which was nourishing on a different level. Love the mission of this place and hope you support them during COVID and beyond. Thanks, Uncommon Coffee Roasters.

An absolute cornerstone of downtown Saugatuck, Uncommon Grounds is THE place to get coffee in town. Hot drinks, cold drinks, any drink in between they offer it and do it so well. They're very conscientious about where they get their beans and often visit the farms to ensure the quality of the product and the quality of the lives of the workers - this is super important.
They offer up a lot of little breakfast treats, grab and go breakfast foods, as well as a small lunch menu with sammies and the like.
A truly wonderful coffee shop that is always a joy to visit!
