I came here this morning for a business meeting as a first-time Donckers customer. What a great experience! This is a hometown favorite with a retro feel. Easy to find on Washington in downtown Marquette either by parking in front or in the rear. The street floor has a charming old-time soda fountain with lots of candies, perfect for the kids. The upper floor is designed as a retro-style diner with a 1950s feel. The food was excellent, as was the service. I met the owner Tom briefly, and he is a true class act. He has a firm handshake and a warm, welcoming smile. They have very neat loyalty program where you have a rock artfully designed with an assigned number, that you can use, at each visit. Overall a great place for friends, family, and food!

How does the best Orange Juice in the world end up in Marquette, Michigan? Listen to me, call the recruiter Sgt Hernandez down the road, go join the Air Force, travel all over the world and try to prove me wrong. You’ll still find your way back up north for this liquid gold!

Donker's serves excellent food from fresh ingredients. Located above a candy and curio shop, the restaurant has ample seating across the second floor. You order at the counter and you are given a numbered rock for your table. I had the tuna melt and it was excellent.

The food was really good! Such a cute lunch spot with a good variety of unique sandwiches. They even have a little shop downstairs to look at while you wait or after you eat.
The only annoying part was the wait due to the capacity limits and social distancing. Which was out of their control and understandable.
Definitely would recommend this place!

Great local place with a real history behind it. The owners care about where they started from and are happy to tell you about it. The food was very good and very creative. They had ever changing daily lunch specials which were always unique. We ended up eating either breakfast or lunch here at least 3 times during our week stay in Marquette and stopped by the first floor candy shop more times than that just to grab a hand full of treats for the day. They also have a soda fountain and ice cream as well. A really great place and a must stop for anyone visiting Marquette.

Nice place to get chocolate and misc. gifts. Be warned though, it’s a very small space (very difficult to socially distance, although they do limit the number of people inside at a time). Pricey too.

My friend and I visited early Saturday morning and had a short wait before being seated. Waited 15 min for our server to come over where she didn’t even acknowledge the wait or introduce herself.

The coffee was terrible tasting which was disappointing since we expected to have some flavored. Overheard the table next to us complaining about their food to each other and they left with over 3/4ths of theirs plates left with food on it. The other table complained about waiting 50 min. It was busy but out of the 6 tables by us, there were only 3 of us seated and none of the waitresses seemed like they were rushing or in a hurry.

After a 40 min wait, our food arrived. My eggs weren’t cooked at all and when I pointed this out to our waitress, she told me she’d speak with a a manger. The manager never even came by to apologize and the waitress never did either. She offered to comp $3 off a $12 meal and I accepted since I did not want to wait another 40 min for the food.

Very disappointed and it seemed that many others that day were too. Would not return and would not recommend.

The best Reuben I've had in a long time, they grilled the meat, placed it on the bread and then grilled the bread. The waitress was friendly and polite. Will return just for the sandwich.

We stopped in here to get some local treats before heading out of town. Very friendly staff who gave us samples of various candies to try before buying. We bought some chocolate covered almonds, coke bottle gummies, jelly beans, and caramel squares embedded with cookies.

Would definitely stop in again the next time we are in town.
