Wonderful place for ice cream and friendly atmosphere! Short distance from Lake MI to bring ice cream and watch the beautiful sunsets at Empire.

We had The Beach Bum, the Cherry Salad wrap and a hot dog with mustard; and, all of it was fabulous. Hard to believe half the shop used to be a hatmaker's studio.
Fake Name
In some futile protest of the new "Mask Mandate", the woman working behind the counter was wearing a mask that had all of the fabric covering mouth cut out. On top of that, she would take the already useless mask off when she leaned over the counter to speak to customers. Obviously it's a clear violation of the mask mandate, but it was also simply rude to the customers trying to safely patronize her store. Many guests were walking out, including myself, it's a real shame that what seemed like a nice little ice-cream shop was ruined for so many due to the radical protest being carried out by their employee.

We came during the height of tourism season here in leelanua (cherry festival) so I may contribute the lack of service to the added stress. That being said, the service was unacceptable. A family of four came in on a 90 degree day, proceeded to order $14 worth of ice cream, and were denied a real cup of water. The teenager behind the stand gave them one of those 1oz cups of water, saying they had to purchase a $3 bottle of water.
Honestly, my girlfriend and I sat at the bar to see how frequent this lack of service was and it was a common occurance.

Really good šš». Havenāt tried the coffee, but thereās a lot of great flavors, dairy free sherbet and the Sanders Hot Fudge Sunday is great for sharing.

Excellent service even amid the craziness of the world, absolutely delicious icecream. I recommend the ESKIMO KISS icecream. It tastes like a almond joy bar.

Quaint old fashioned soda bar setup. Our family indulged in some ice cream, and my 13 year old loved the homemade waffle cones.
