From the business
"Our family has been making maple syrup in Charlevoix since 1898, and all Harwood Gold products are sweetened only with pure maple syrup. We opened our first storefront in 2016, and it is half cafe, half store. The cafe features a farm-fresh, seasonal menu, as well as espresso drinks, fresh baked goods and smoothies, plus our hand meat pies both hot and frozen. Our menu includes vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. The store side features all of the Harwood Gold maple syrup and made-with-maple products, with a tasting bar so you can try before you buy. All of our maple products are also available to purchase on our website."

Cute store and cafe! A serious place that knows how to use pure maple syrup to sweeten all their products with! Had some Round Lake Fog tea latte that's amazing!! Good coffee and crazy place to find!

Not a fan. Cute shop, my husband was looking forward to a hand pie. We were there for coffee and breakfast. Worst carmel macchiato I've ever had. The bacon, egg hand pie was okay, but had a wired white sauce oozing out of it and the egg was hard boiled, but the beef and carrots had been cooked in wine and was terrible. The dough/ crust had a nice texture but needed salt, the egg and bacon needed pepper, and the beef and carrot was too salty. But the real kicker was the tab. For two small hand pies and two SMALL cups of coffee, the tab was $30. We will not be returning to this pretentious little shop.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Macchiatos seemed to just be hot milk though, I had to add a double shot espresso to have it taste a bit like coffee. My recommendation would be to add 1-2 espresso shots to the drinks.

The customer service is great and they have a wide variety of items to buy. Their maple granola is some of the best that I have ever had and definitely recommend giving it a try. They also have excellent cookies and cold brew coffee as well as tea lattes. They have indoor seating which is a nice addition during these colder months. I highly recommend stopping by and buying some of their delicious granola and a coffee.

Their chocolate hazelnut spread is so delicious and doesn't taste like concentrated white sugar like Nutella does. It makes Nutella taste fake.
