Michigan House Cafe and Brew Pub

Thank you Tim and Sue for preparing our Easter feast via takeout. We served your broiled lake trout on our fine china, got out the cyrstal goblets, lite the candles and enjoyed a gourmet meal at home topped off by a fabulous piece of your carrot cake. The Red Jacket Brewery/ Michigan House has a great selection of bottles micro brews and a choice of imports. Unfortunately they only have four of their own brews on tap. I had the Brown Ale. It was quite good. A little tangier than I expected, but, certainly quaffable!
The bar is a beautiful example of a turn of the century era bar. Dark carved wood, coffered ceiling...the ambience is simply fantastic.
I will go back again and again because what they may lack in the variety and number of their own beers, they make up for with their selection of bottled beers. Then there is the ambiance...!
Did I mention they have some really good food? Secondary to beer, of course, but...

Came back for dinner after lunch. PLEASE try the pub fish and chips!! Best battered cod I have EVER had. Could just eat the batter and be happy. Amazing meal, attentive service.

Very good food and old time charm

Excellent food, service is hit or miss, depends largely on who your server is. Adult beverage selection is wonderful with local brews and indie national labels. Top shelf imports.

This place is amazing! The food is DELICIOUS and I love all the pictures on the walls. The building is old and it has do much character. And, I love the feel of the place! The servings are HUGE.

5 stars isn't enough for this place! Definitely a must stop if in the area! Doubt anyone would leave unhappy! Had the panini and home chips! Best I've had anywhere!!!!! Can't wait to eat here again!!

Good food, good service, and a good selection of local beer, including their own.

The food was amazing and the service was excellent! I really enjoy looking at all the interesting decor. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I always enjoy meals from The Michigan House!!
