Michigan House Cafe and Brew Pub

Good food. Good locally brewed beer. Fantastic hostess and bartender/server. On a busy Saturday night the hostess actually remembered my name from seating me and said "have a good night Dave" on my way out. I will gladly drive 1300 miles for that kind of service again.

What a great location filled with history, not to mention the awesome food and beer selection. We had a great experience there and our server was awesome. We can't wait to get back to Calumet to go back.

Had the Bruschetta and chili, my wife had a blackened salmon wrap. Both of us loved it. 10/10 recommended for lunch/dinner.

My wife and I ate at the Michigan House twice in early May. The food was excellent. The decor and ambiance were exactly what we were looking for as well. The staff were intelligent, friendly and helpful. When we return to the Keweenah peninsula I’ll make it a point to patronize this establishment again.

Fantastic food, you can tell that a majority of the menu is made in house. Nice and friendly staff, very knowledgeable of both the menu and the history of the location. The interior is a beautifully decorated historic building that adds to the cozy atmosphere.
Be aware, no A/C, but ventilation is great so it doesn't get too hot.

I'm a picky eater so unfortunately they don't have much I like, I did try the potato skins which was okay. They couldn't make a daiquiri either. When I'm eating it is disgusting to look at dead animals, it makes me think of how they got there which I assume the worst.

Great friendly staff! Willing to share history. Good food and daily specials. Building is in immaculate shape and beautiful old building with tons of history. Lots of wall art and stories to look at. Brewery beer is good and not too far out there. Bar back is a masterpiece.

Good food, great ambiance. Had the dill havarti appetizer- unique, good! Drunken Pig pulled pork sandwich was awesome! House taps were OK- but not outstanding- had the cowboy IPA and nut brown ale. Definitely going back!

This is very good place to dine out in calumet and have a drink. The service here was good and food was awesome, they know what they make. I personally tried Gipp burger and walnut burger, they come with French fries and taste awesome. Chicken wings at this place is the one dish everyone should try they have a perfect flavour balance, both spicy and a very little sweet taste. Service is very good and the staff was very friendly. They even changed the whole burger when the patty was just a little burnt and replaced with new burger. They also brew their own beer in house and we tried oatmeal Espress stout, it was good and had a little smoky flavour
