Just waited 25 minutes to get a bacon egg and cheese on house bread. My food arrived cold and WITHOUT AN EGG. The bread was toasted stiff and very difficult to eat. Staff apologized but did not offer to remake food, claiming they were “too busy.” Barista seemed abundantly confused when asked to make an Americano. This business should not represent itself as a walk-in café when staff seem burdened by simple orders and are unable to get them correct in a timely fashion. I will never spend money here again.
Upon a strong recommendation from my coworker Jen regarding birthday sweets I picked up a berry cordial pie at Starling as a first time customer.
Well received is an understatement as it was made fresh and boxed hot , personally by the proprietor Scott.
Kudos!
I reccomend Stars and will be a repeat customer.
They are right across from Dunk's in the harbor and have a delicious coffee and breakfast menu, so remember to support the local economy.
Some thought should also be given regarding Thanksgiving and Holiday feasts and festivities. The pies are phenomenal and come in what ever flavor you favor. Their website has pictures, but be forewarned, they will make you hungry.
For my husband who loves apple pie, Starling Bakery baked Birthday Pie with "Happy Birthday" made from pie crust. The pie was delicious and my family was thankful.
This bakery is amazing. I’m on the west coast but had a good friend staying in Scituate for his birthday. I wanted to surprise him and was trying to figure out how to order pies and get an Uber or something to deliver them. When I called starling they said they deliver for a delivery fee of just a few dollars (too cheap, you def could charge more). He was thrilled, said the pies were amazing, and I look like a great friend! Thank you, will definitely be stopping by this bakery if I’m over that way!
Insane croissants. Grew up in Sydney which was overloaded with bakeries on every corner. So glad there’s something comparable to get tasty fresh baked pastries. The chocolate croissant was nuts - the chocolate was still gooey! Better than anything you’d get in France. So thankful to have found a place to pack the pounds on.
Starling Bakery has illuminated my senses! The baked goods...pies, scones, loafs of sweet bread, cookies....are the most divinely delicious creations I have had the pleasure to eat in many decades! These are truly rich pastries, but the flavors of each delicacy reign supreme and are not overwhelmed by the richness. If you love baked goods, I highly recommend you indulge your palate with whichever pastry, pie, cookie, scone or tea bread you are drawn to. Each is unique, each is exquisitely delicious. Some are so intense, such as the Chocolate Chess Pie, that a small portion at a time will satisfy you and send your sensory experience heavenward. Others, such as the cookies, are so delicious that you may find it difficult to eat only one for dessert, or an afternoon snack, or a bedtime treat. Recently I indulged in the Peaches n' Creme Pie, the Coconut Cream Pie, a divine Lemon Poppyseed Loaf, Cinnamon Chip Scones, Cranberry Orange Scones....both scones are bursting with flavor, sugar cookies which are soft and thick and not too sweet, and the Chocolate Crinkle cookies, truly a deep chocolate experience which almost melts in my mouth. I can't wait to try their croissants and breads, and their drinks (especially their cappuccino). It will be exciting and a pleasure to experience all that Scott and Peter create, now and in the future. I hope Starling Bakery will continue its success and remain a fixture in Scituate. This was our first time visiting Starling Bakery. It won’t be our last! The pretzels were amazing - fresh from the oven! The scones are so good too!!!
