Among the best bakery cafes I've yet ventured into. The sweets - vegan, vegetarian, or otherwise - are outstanding. The sandwiches are diverse, generous, and very inexpensive. The ingredients are all quite fresh; Some of the best pesto I've ever had between two slices of bread as well as a memorable smoked tofu grace this bakery's menu. I must suggest the Berkshire Sandwich and the vegan Chocolate cupcake topped with raspberry buttercream. Moreover, to wash down your plentiful meal, a steaming cup of coffee or tea, of which there are many and some of rarity, won't set you back. I may have found my new favorite sandwich shop.

Woodstar is often packed to the brim with people, and for good reason! Their drinks are superb, and they always have fantastic local goodies available as well as good sandwiches and well-adorned bagels. They also have plenty of electrical outlets if you need to charge your phone or plug in a laptop.

if crowded spaces are an issue for you, though, you might want to look around (though most coffee houses in Northampton are similarly crowded).

Great variety , baked breads on premises

Fabulous coffee, great baked goods, fun place to be. Ride your bike or walk as parking is not easy and the meter maids are way too competent. There's always a crowd of interesting folk in and around the place. Your second cup of coffee should only be $1.00, they only give you a nickel discount on your second cup--which I find way overboard.

Full disclosure: This is my "Cheers"; I know everyone, and everything on the menu. The staff is a blend of somewhat transient students and folks who've been here for *years* - and just an all-around excellent group of people. The food comes from local sources and a significant share of it comes from the owners' own farm. It's all fresh, all delicious and, while not a huge menu, no matter what your dietary preferences/restrictions, you'll find something delicious you can eat here; vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, diabetic-friendly...you've got it. The sandwiches are creative (do check out the Nantucket!) and served on their own freshly baked breads and rolls. There's a daily special and daily breads and soups.
The baked goods are excellent - the heavenly aroma of breads and pastries wafting down the street in the mornings is no lie. If you have a chocolate addiction, this is the place to satisfy it. (The pain au chocolate is sooo good).
Beverages. Seriously, pass right by the Starbucks and head here, instead. I had my first americano here and was instantly converted. And the café mocha...rhapsody. There's a generous selection of black, green, white, and herbal teas along with cider, in season, and Italian soda.
The space can get crowded, as it's a great place to meet up, study, and people-watch. It's popular for those catching their morning coffee/tea fix, and taking their lunch breaks. Things quiet down between these times. It's populated with students, parents with small children, seniors, and everyone in between.
Parking can be a challenge at the busiest times (the lot next door is reserved parking - don't do it). Restrooms are available, and they're accessible.

Good food, great coffee, good atmosphere. Was disappointed last time I went in because they appear to shut off their sandwich press will before they close. This isn't an uncommon policy, but it's a frustrating one to come up against when you think you've come into an open café, but they're actually halfway closed for the night already.

Sandwiches were as ordered, but service was extremely slow; even though the cafe did not seem that busy for the area and these were not customized orders or off menu. We asked for items to go, but they arrived setup on plates to dine in. Quality of food is excellent.

Great place with yummy sandwiches. I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. My favorites are usually on the pressed sandwiches list. I recommend the Brookline (pastrami) or the Maggie (turkey pesto).

We had breakfast sandwiches with coffee - very tasty. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed. I felt like I could hang out for as long as I wanted, was not over crowded on a Saturday morning.
