Cute spot with free wifi, a decent seating area, espresso drinks, tea, and food. I wasn’t too impressed with the bacon, egg, and cheese (I asked for mine sans bacon); it was a bit overpriced for the size, but my latte was delicious. The staff was friendly and the NOLA blues and jazz playing over the speakers was the best.
The staff was very great but the drinks they made were not. Coffee was burnt and the iced mocha wasn't flavourful. The beignet were good, but we ended up leaving the coffee and going to sweeteria
Tables, big chairs, and two booths (some outdoor seating as well). Jazz/New Orleans music playing. People working and light conversation. Big open windows to see the street. Light coffee house food, cold brew, nitro, and every hot coffee. Alternative milks available. Great place to work or hang out. Their Macadamia seasonal drink is amazing.
I love any coffee with espresso ☕️ It tasted very good but the caffeine level was not as strong compared to the same amount of espresso shot from other shops. Everything else was good.
I visited PJ's for the first time today and found the shop to be clean, cozy and quiet - perfect for working/enjoying a book while having coffee. It was a Sunday afternoon, so I doubt it would be that quiet on a weekday. I didn't have any food, but the coffee was tasty (though it had less frills than Starbucks). The service was quick and polite.
I used to love coming to PJs for the quick and high quality service. I haven’t been in a while and things have changed drastically. The barista worked way too slow ( a 20 minute wait) for my coffee and coffee was more milk than brew. Even Starbucks at peak doesn’t move this slow.
Out checking out new coffee places and this one came across my radar. Parking here was a little weird. I had to go ask where their parking was. It's in the garage beside them but is only like 3 retail spaces. The atmosphere was very relaxed. I got the praline latte. It was decent. I guess the flavor could have been a little stronger. Lemon poppyseed is one of my faves. They have a rewards system where you just need to enter your number at the end of the transaction so that's pretty convenient. I'd go back and try other things.
Marisol is the best period. She is so genuine and beautiful and it shines in her presence/deliverance when she welcomes you. And she makes the best lattes; adds her special touch n boom ☕ 🤤😋. I always start my day good whenever I come here...great energy/atmosphere. Thank You Marisol.
I stopped in to get some work done and try the King Cake Cold Brew in honor of Fat Tuesday coming up. My drink was absolutely delicious and the owner, Tyra, was exceptionally friendly. I also had a bacon egg and cheese biscuit- highly recommend! Having been to PJ’s locations in New Orleans, this one did not disappoint- it had the same great food & drinks with the authentic NOLA vibes. Such a treat to have this in the DMV!
Really enjoyed the velvet ice and though by nature it has a lot of ice felt like half my cup had remaining frozen drink. Overall the drink was pretty sweet probably on par with frappuccinos from that other coffee shop I won’t name. Having lived in northern Louisiana and experienced CC Coffee in Louisiana I will say they offer a fairly similar experience. The best thing about this place is that they do sell King Cakes which are far more authentic than some poor excuses at farmers markets that don’t even have the signature white, green and purple frosting. They do offer a register rewards program but it isn’t clear what you earn and when. Overall the cashier was fairly nice but I almost expected a more Louisiana experience with bright Mardi Gras ads and maybe even selling beignets. To me this will be important long term with numerous coffee shops in the area including the very popular Kaldi.
