Amazing jazz tonight.
A secret gem in the city.

Intimate place to see some of the most original music in Portland on a nightly basis. Bring cash as the performances are all "pay what you can" and they pass the basket - the shows are always worth anything you can spend though. Probably the best place in Portland to just pop in to hear music if you're not looking to catch a specific show (though you can do that too).

Came from ny to hangout with some friends and turned in to a mask wearing vaccination mess of witch we had both. So after we got in they come back and ask for vaccination status of the couple we were with after we had sat down. And got kicked out cause friends wifey left card at home and half the crowd wasn't wearing masks but apparently everyone had there vax cards.. and this is america. I think it was the ny hat i was wearing bunch of pompous punk wpeople

I caught the last few songs of a great concert on the 11th of july. I specify the date as i don't find the artist's name. If somebody reading this know it please let me know because she was amazing. As usual i was too shy to congratulate her after the show, but it was a very special experience. The bar itself, coz this is what the review is for, was good too, seemed to have good vibes and the staff was friendly.

A nice spot! A small music venue (lots of folk and Irish performers), good cocktail menu, and good food, but pricey and small servings.

Went for Monday night comedy night. Saw many comics over about 1h15m. All were enjoyable. I would go back. If you don't like a comic it's okay. They switch them up after no more than 15min. Some comics had very short routines.

They charge no cover and then kick you out when you have a quite conversation in the back of the venue during a set. This was most likely due to one or two employees but clearly there aren’t standards on how to treat customers. Great jazz, poor experience.

Blue is a great place. I go there often for Saturday "Jazz Night". No cover, but a $10 or $20 tip for the band is asked for (and gratefully given). Drinks are reasonably priced.

visited this place with my boyfriend, we wanted to get some drinks. the service there is really good and fast. but we were told that we were to loud even when i was barely hearing my boyfriend and always bend foward to his ear to talk to him. maybe some people there were offended of our laughing and they mentioned it the barkeeper. i honestly thought its a place to sit down enjoy the music while having conversations. but everyone was just sitting there and listening to the music that had 2 different chords for 3 minutes.
after our drinks we left because of having conversations in a normale tone seems to be forbidden in there.
I can totally agree on the review from Katie Wright. Felt like a library with music - not allowed to talk.

Had a great time! Saw an awesome singer and truly enjoyed the show. Got a $4 Voigner during happy hour and wait staff is super sweet.
