Back in the day this was my coffee ☕️ shop before Starbucks was even a name to us. It use to be named "the house of java" back then, now it goes by "tamp and grind" and they moved into the section next to them making it double the size it use to be. Loved it back then, love it now. If I ever come back to my old Stomping Grounds again. I'll always make sure to stop by and grab me a white mocha. My fav back then, my fav now.

The absolute best coffee shop in the world. They are the kindest people I’ve met and they always have a smile on their face. I’ve been grinding for years and I can honestly say that they will always have my business. If you are in the Alexandria Louisiana area and want coffee there’s no better place to go than Tamp and Grind.

Eclectic and welcoming atmosphere in the heart of historic downtown Alexandria.
Staff was friendly, attentive to details, and patient for each customer, even during busy times.
Excellent place to study and focus, but also a fine place for a date. I especially appreciate their board game collection, available to all visiting in person.

We got here a bit late because they were out of quite a few things on the menu. No peanut butter, eggs, or bread. So we were unable to try the avocado toast and the cereal killer parfait. We did get to try the banana bread, ham pepper and cheese frittata, breakfast oats, mini waffles, and a white chocolate mocha. The food was delicious! Most of the food was gone before I could take a photo. The mocha was wonderful! I did feel a little unwelcome when I first came in though. I felt as though I was bothering the woman at the register. She did come through for me though when we ordered another item to find they were also out of yogurt so we got the oatmeal instead. All in all we may come back. Also, the decor is so aesthetic, definitely a good place to study, read, work, or just chill.

The Tamp & Grind is one of my favorite places to relax and enjoy a coffee / tea. Thier staff is attentive to their customers and have a very positive attitude. All in all I love the atmosphere the most!

No franchise beats the friendly vibe of a local coffee shop, and this one serves it droves. Their avocado toast had just the right amount of salty kick to it. The iced latte was definitely not watered-down either.

Great atmosphere. Prompt service. Coffee is decent. Food is maybe frozen, definitely served cold and hard as a rock.

I just adore this place so much. Great food, great coffee, and amazing people inside. I love all the artwork and the whole atmosphere. I've been coming here since it first opened after it was Molly's and it is still my fav coffee house.

Tamp & Grind Coffee, the heart of Indie Village in Downtown Alexandria Louisiana. Live music, arts, festivals, cultural diversity, the place for all ages to enjoy. The best way to start the day or just hang out with awesome folks. Always something happening all year long.
