The wife and I found this place on a whim. Got greeted and seated quickly. Note, this place is tiny (like 7 tables tiny). Prompt service on the coffee and placing our order. Wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries and toast. I got sunny side up, hashbrown casserole, bacon and toast. Standard breakfast is eggs, meat, HBC, and biscuit and gravy (we don't do biscuits and gravy). Everything was hot and delicious.
A couple notes..
There was one woman working on Saturday morning, which is the norm. She was hostess, waitress, cook, busser, and cashier.
Food was served on Styrofoam plate and plastic silverware. We didn't understand that until we found out she was by herself.

We would 100% return when in the area. What a unique experience!

Felt like home here, friendly laid back staff. However the food was under whelming especially for the price. The broccoli cheddar soup tasted very milky with hardly any cheddar and it was $3.99. I may be back to try the desserts but definitely not for the food.

I had the grilled cheese with a side of broccoli salad. It was delicious and server was very friendly. The value for the money far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this place.

Friendly staff and a very pleasant atmosphere. Overall, my fiancée and I had a great lunch at alley cat. Admirably, my food wasn’t quite a 5 stars as far as taste is concerned. However, the staff was so nice and I love supporting local businesses so much, I couldn’t help but give them anything less than a 5-star review.

We will definitely be back again sometime!

Met friend here for lunch. My soup, cheese tortellini, and half a Turkey BLT were delicious! Service was friendly and quick. Haven’t been to Alley Cat for several years since we moved from Middletown, but already making plans to go back very soon! Hidden treasure! It was wonderful!

Alley Cat Cafe is one of my Middletown "go to" cafes. My friend and I enjoyed lunch while celebrating my birthday. We each enjoyed the roast beef sandwich. (BTW, they were able to accommodate my mushroom allergy without compromising the quality of the sandwich.)
We each took home a slice of the honey cake which was as delicious as it was unique!

Really tasty for a nice lunch with my mom! I had the half soup half sandwich. The benedictine panini was AMAZING! Really crunchy bacon and fresh cucumbers really added a lot to what can be a bland sandwich. And I got the cheese tortellini soup which was really broth-y with a bunch of tomatoes and Italian sausage in it. SO yummy :) Will definitely be coming back here. The only problem was finding it, thankfully my mom knew right where she was going.

Ended up here when I took my car to have the windows tinted nearby, and was told there was no waiting area. It's 26° F outside with snow and ice still on the ground, but okay! 🥶 I began (carefully) walking. Up the hill and around the corner, I see the word "cafe" on a building, and head in. Alley Cat Cafe is very cozy, clean, and welcoming! Breakfast was hot and tasty, and the cafe made for a nice place to hang out for a few hours. 👍🏻👍🏻
