This store is well laid out, nice staff and has a cozy feel. However, I don't go to this store anymore as they stock soft style pornographic magazines in racks in full view in front of the cashiers. This offensive material is in perfect eyeshot for kids which is even more scandalous. If they get this junk cleaned up, my family will come back!

Quick to go in, stayed an hour getting lost in their interesting variety of well organized books, found several new books that were on display and are worth a read, not just advertised impulse junk buys. Love going there, service makes a show of face asking me several times if I need help with anything.

I love barnes and noble. Could spend hours in here. Its clean the bathrooms are normally clean. It is a hit or miss on customer service. You can spend a lot of time just looking for someone to help you find something you are looking for.

I phoned ahead & they had my books waiting for me. So nice to walk in & see extraordinary inventory, selections and staff with answers. Best little BIG store in Topeka. Makes one fall in love with books and writing materials all over again.

Have you ever been to a Barnes and noble that had no outlets? Me either, until today. I came here for a quiet place to study, there’s no where to plug in electronics and the chairs are incredibly uncomfortable. Disappointing. This is a first for me. Don’t bother coming here if you need to study for a couple of hours.... stick to the cute and cozy coffee shops by the university.

Really enjoy this place. Where else can you get a cup of coffee or tea find a good book then sit and relax. They sell plenty of other items there also. If you are in the area just stop in.

It was jammed packed not enough employee's. Had event going on which was totally unorganized kids running around yelling and screaming totally chaotic. It usually is a much better place. I would suggest no more live concerts during holiday season.

I generally enjoy going to this store to study, play Chess, or browse books.
The reason this store gets three stars instead of five is because if I am going in there to look for a particular book, there is no easy way for me to find it if I don't know which category it's going to be in without having to ask one of their associates. I find this extremely frustrating, as there are times I want to find a number of books and I have to ask an associate each time. Or there are times I simply don't want to have to ask someone for help. And then there are times when I'm ready to ask for assistance but all of their associates are already occupied, and I'm stuck waiting ten minutes for what could have been a thirty second query at a kiosk.
I love brick and mortar bookstores and would prefer to give my money to them over Amazon, however I often end up using Amazon in these situations to avoid the pain that it is to locate a book at this store. A couple of computers to help locate books for customers to use would earn this store a five star rating from me and redirect hundreds of dollars a year from me to them instead of to Amazon.

I've loved Barnes and Nobles since I stumbled upon them in Seattle in the 80s... It's a smaller B&N in Topeka due to the small size of Topeka as a whole, but friendly staff who have always been helpful and often ordered books in from other stores for me with no extra charges... we visit at least twice a month.

Coffee and books..who could want more? The staff here is super helpful and the books are organized very well. Overall, great place to find a new book and drink coffee!
