If I could give zero Stars I would!! The 5 of us decided to stop by for lunch passing through this town. Coming in we immediately felt this weird atmosphere. We go to sit down and we are asked what we want to drink we place those orders and my husband decides to ask about if they have sweet tea and she says that 'it's regular tea but it's only sweet if I put my finger in it' all smiles and giggles which I felt was very inappropriate, then she goes and makes our drinks, brings them back and we give her our food order. We literally sat there for a whole hour waiting on our order and the waitress seemed strung out on top of telling us the excuse of 'I don't know what's going on in the kitchen or the cooks are going slow' a few times when asking about our food. When we finally were about to leave we finally were brought just our daughter's food. When heading out the door we notice that the people that came in about 15 mins after us had their food. To be honest we felt like it was a race thing with me being the only black person in the group. IF YOU DIDN'T WANT TO SERVE US YOU SHOULD'VE JUST SAID SO!! We will never recommend this place to anybody and definitely have been telling others about this ridiculous experience it's 2022!!
Everyone was great that works there. Food was awesome and atmosphere was great. Wasn't crowded at all. Love this little diner. We will definitely be going back there soon.
Today, I was blessed with a remarkable experience at the Green Door Cafe. My family and I were well into a long day travelling from Kansas to Texas. Even though I knew it would add hours to the trip, I talked my family into taking the back roads instead of the interstate. So we found ourselves in Sedan, KS. We topped off the gas tank, and decided to see what was to be found for lunch. We settled on the Green Door Cafe. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by our waitress. We enjoyed a great meal and great service, but that wasn't the best part. Being from Texas, we are accustomed to the seating in BBQ restaurants often being long tables, long enough to seat 8, 10, 12 or more. This means you share your table with others when they arrive after you. A couple of the tables here were the same way, and that's where we chose to sit. A man came in with his daughter, and since all the other tables were full, he asked if he could join us. I know this is getting long, so to get to the point, we had a great conversation over lunch with our new friend. Afterwards, we had the opportunity to talk briefly with a few other folks. It was a joy. We never know how our actions or words may effect others. I will say this: We were treated with sincere warmth and hospitality by the Green Door Cafe as well as the people of Sedan. It was a greater blessing to us than they could know. Thank you all and God bless you. We will go out of our way to visit again.
This cafe is the best I've eaten at in a long minute! Friendly folks, our waitress Amber was just a joy to have and her key lime pie was just amazing. I had the chicken fried steak and he had the fried chicken dinner special with lemon cake. Everything was homemade down to the ranch dressing and the tea was even great. This is a must eat at cafe!
I had a cheese burger and onion rings with tea. I just came in from a auction in town never been to sedan before. Everyone was friendly. I like to get out that way again. Thanks for your hospitality.
Always delicious and the staff is amazing as always. We showed up about 20 minutes before closing but these ladies just wanted make sure people are fed. Love all of them.
Very unsatisfied. Went there for breakfast this morning with my family. Everything but my daughter's oatmeal was cold. Hashbrowns were very hard and overcooked. Bacon was nasty and upset our stomachs. Coffee tasted super old. Toast barely buttered. Won't go back.

Friendly staff. We got to meet the owner, very sweet woman and the food is some of the best home cooking 🍳 😋 in the area.
