Stopped for lunch, had breakfast instead. Food was good, service was great. But, nobody was wearing a bra, seemed like old to young, big to skinny, bras were not allowed. Odd in today's world. Maybe everyone got up late that day. Will dine there again when passing through

Nice, quaint place ... Good food but very busy/crowded ... the omelet was "simple," egg, cheese, & meat; unfortunately, you have to add other items for an extra charge.

Eggcellent!!
We went for breakfast and had a wonderful meal. Highly recommend!

Best mocha I have ever had! Poached eggs on the traditional Benedict were perfect and the hollandaise had a lovely lemon finish. Happy we found this and worth the 20 min wait!

Love The Roost! Everything is always delicious. Biscuit sandwich is a frequent fav followed by pancakes, biscuits & gravy, and eggs Benedict. Their cold brew is also fantastic.

We’ve supported the Roost for years: the food is good, the drinks are good, the bakery is a nice treat.
However, a couple months ago when I had family visiting, we were treated horribly by the hostess. We got there early but waited for more than an hour before hearing her actually tell someone she wouldn’t seat us. We were shocked and left. We heard from a friend who had a similar experience with this hostess: she didn’t seat them and blamed them for not telling her their name (they did).
I contacted the manager and had a pleasant exchange. I appreciated her response, but we decided to take a break.
This past weekend, we were walking by and thought about grabbing pastries for our walk. Went inside and the hostess who refused to seat us was still an employee, now serving tables.
I hate to write a public negative review, but after expressing my concerns privately and seeing the outcome, I wouldn’t trust eating there. There are A LOT of great breakfast places in town. Visit one of those.

If I could give the Roost 6 stars out of 5 - I would! We shared a delicious pancake stack with fresh berries. The whipped butter was a nice touch. I had fresh orange juice and kicky espresso. The veggie omelette was really yummy. Best meal from my 2 day visit to Lawrence.

Officially my current go-to for weekend brunch. Please tip your service staff, they rely on it and are very deserving of it.

We went today to grab some coffee to go. We had been in once before pre-pandemic and remember it being good. The food is delicious and the coffee was amazing. My boyfriend had the chai latte and downed it in two seconds. I tried their lavender latte and it was delicious. They're COVID policies were great I felt very safe. They enforced masks and social distanced tables. I also saw the outdoor dining was available and reasonably followed the social distance. We had a great experience and will be coming back :)
