Felt like I was back in Louisiana! Gumbo was thicker than I like, but man were the Poboys good. Best Cajun restaurant in Kansas!

Excellent food and service, prices are very reasonable! The gumbo and shrimp & grits are terrific! Love this place!

The new location offers great space with the same feel and the food rules. Hard to find a better po'boy but their corn fritters are my favorite

I had a cup of gumbo and a fried oyster po boy sandwich. This lunch was absolutely outstanding. Tiny little place but with awesome big eats. Steady crowd. One of those places in Lawrence that you should not miss

Not a huge po’ boys fan but my son is. Jumbo hush puppies were solid. Love the hot sauce selection.

Small space with lots of character. Loved the wasabi (deviled) egg! The gumbo was good and hearty, although not spicy at all. Hush puppies were light and delightful. Easy, relaxed atmosphere.

Great little deli kind of store. Selling comfort food.
A very popular place for kids after school to take a bite. Also a popular place for lunch time. They have sandwiches, corndog, French fries and different kind of snacks.
Price is very friendly. Good for teenagers to purchase a food or a afternoon snacks.
Place is very tiny. Only less 15 chairs inside and has a few outdoor tables and chairs.

Recently remodeled where the Pedestrian used to be. I was a little hesitant, at first. When we entered there were already several people ahead of us. Two more groups came in right behind us, 1 was obviously a repeat telling the others what was good.

Wife got Philly cheesesteak sandwich. She really liked it.
I had the Jambalaya and red beans & rice. Both excellent. Jambalaya had a lot of shrimp.
We shared 6 piece hushpuppies; HUGE, tasty, not greasy.

After we ordered & sat down the place filled up with hungry people.

The price is very good.
Service is excellent.

We are planning to go back for French onion soup & other options we didn't get to try.

Pros
Affordable
Free parking lot across the street
Delicious jambalaya and fried shrimp po boy
Close to other restaurants within walking distance

Cons
Limited indoor seating (we had no trouble finding a table but for large parties it might be an issue)

Jay Bly

This place is definitely small. During the winter months. Not very many places to sit. But don't let that distract you from going. This place is excellent. Staff is excellent and the food is out of this world.
