Bread Garden Market

I wouldn’t say the food here is cheap, but the price is acceptable. The “order here” burgers are perfectly delicious, yet the process is a bit confusing. I personally love the deli section, but the only thing is the price can sometimes become *not so friendly*.

Iowa City's idea of a Whole Foods. Great salad bar for eating in, along with a good wine and fresh produce section. I wouldn't recommend it for staple food items since the groceries is overpriced, but fantastic to meet a friend for a coffee and gelato.

Love that it’s not only a market, but also a restaurant. The food is affordable and you get a lot of it for a great price. I highly recommend eating at the restaurant or the hot food bar. Everything tastes so fresh. The tacos are amazing.

The bread garden is a somewhat overpriced, but makes up for it by having excellent (albeit limited) selections in a fantastic location. The bread garden also has a number of dining options that are very nice, making it a pretty great one stop shop in downtown IC - if you don't mind paying extra for the luxury.

My husband is being treated at UIHC. Today I purchased a chicken BLT for him at the hospital. It wasn’t exactly a BLT. There was bacon but barely any lettuce, no tomato, no mayonnaise or packets of it.
So, it was very dry. I’m also appalled that the cost is $8.50 when a patient has a limited choice for food purchase.

Good quality self serve hot food options, for slightly more than I want to pay. And good organic crunchy grocery also for slightly more than the New Pioneer Co-op. Amazing nitro cold brew coffee... For slightly more than I'd. And good gelato and baked goods priced normally.

High quality food for reasonable pricing. It's also very family friendly!

Wonderful place! They offer groceries, coffee, gelato, desserts, lunch buffet. I could sit there for hours. Now that Wally is there in charge of their wine, I'm even more excited! I find myself coming here once or twice a week. Plus free parking!

It's amazing how they fit such a huge assortment of products in this place. It's a treasure trove of international foods, and the beer selection alone is tremendous. But the best part of all might be sitting with a drink or a meal and watching life pass by on the ped mall.
