Monday's half off pizza night is a steal, plus the pastas and drinks are amazing.

Solid dinner evening- great service.

My wife and I wanted to treat my parents here as we'd heard only good things for years. We'd stopped in for drinks once before and really enjoyed it. On the Wednesday night we went it was an absolutely incredible dining experience. From cocktails to dessert, everything was excellent. Our server Andrea was top notch. She rolled with my step-dad's banter and was very patient, offering great suggestions based on our tastes and mood. We started with a couple appetizers and several cocktails then moved on to four entrées, a bottle of wine, and more cocktails. We ended up getting steak, one of the chef seafood specials, pasta, and some dish that the waitress patiently concocted negotiating between my step dad and the chef. Every single dish was amazing. We closed dinner with dessert cocktails and a couple desserts and got out of there for $413 after tip. Well worth it. Treat yourself to the premiere food, drinks, and service. Cheers.

Made a reservation and got there early so we went to the bar area. While waiting we noticed a homeless man sitting at the bar. It was decided that we should buy him some food, so I asked him what he wanted, which wasn't much, just a grilled cheese. When I asked the bartender to order it for the man he replied, "well someone already bought him some asparagus tonight, so..." indicating I shouldn't buy him anything. A little rude, but also understandable as he was taking a spot at the bar. We got seated shortly after and got our food ordered. The food was just average, as we make pretty good meals at home and my food needed salt added to be on the better side. When it came time to pay we we're excited to get home and just gave our card to the waitres when she brought the bill. Upon receiving the receipt we noticed we had gotten charged again for our drinks that we paid for at the bar. We kindly flagged down our waitress to inform her. Her response was sassy saying she'd have to check with the bar. We waited all of 20 minutes just to get a new receipt with the correct, but then we couldn't get a confirmation on whether we we're going to be refunded or not, as the first charge had already gone through on our card. We will wait and see if we actually are only charged the corrected amount. For the price and the service, I can't say I recommend coming here.

Good pizza.. a bit dark classic Italian ambiance inside, lovely outside patio with friendly and prompt service.

Centro was a pretty good restaurant over all. The food was pretty pricy but not too terrible. One other thing to note is the really long wait times, while it may be them preparing it immediately you should just be warned you may have to wait upwards of 30 minutes. The food itself was delicious, both times I've gone I got delicious food.

TL;DR: Great food, long wait

Was there for lunch about 1 hour ago. Waited 30 minutes for a pizza. When it came it was luke warm and not the right pizza. We had 75 dollar bottle of wine. Just unacceptable. Would like to give them the benefit of the doubt but bringing out a barely warm pizza after 30 minutes is unacceptable. They did offer to make us another but at that point we had had enough.

Always my go-to spot in Des Moines for a special occasion or just because! The wait staff is always courteous and attentive. The food is consistently phenomenal. Favorites - cucumber mule, onion rings, any pizza or calzone, chicken and prosciutto, insalata mista. And don’t sleep on the weekend specials!

Pizza was very good crisp and fresh the chicken was cooked perfectly, salads are huge and the service was very reasonable. The fish was over cooked so ensure asking it to be cooked your way.
