Coffee Emporium

Drove to this gem during our road trip; it's tucked in a mall type area, but still a sweet little spot. Service and coffee were great.

Very convenient if you are waiting for your family doing exams in the hospital. Just walk across the parking lot. Nice atmosphere and good coffee.

Great service, food, and atmosphere! I loved that there was a little library in the entryway. How unexpected! The plants inside made me happy.
I'm not big on caffeine, so it was a pleasant surprise to see that they had Italian soda. 😄

I needed a place to swing by to get a couple hours of work done and get caffeinated, so I found Coffee Emporium! I definitely would come back for the vibes and drinks!

Parking: The parking spots right outside the building have a 2 hour limit - not sure how heavily enforced this is in the Iowa River Landing. I wanted to stay a bit longer, but did not want to risk it.

Ambiance: I liked the ambiance here. Plenty of seating, nicely decorated, and lots of natural lighting with big windows. It was a good place to sit down and get some work done, with plenty of outlets. There are tables as well as bar seating with stools at the windows.

Drink: I ordered an iced chai latte. Solidly made, no complaints! It was a hot day and I needed to refuel, so it got the job done!

Service: Quick and friendly. I had to ask for the WiFi password and they were more than willing to share it!

Only complaint: It was a bit toasty inside the shop for comfort. I was not sweating profusely or anything, but I definitely got up a few times to stand in front of a fan. They have an air conditioning unit running, but it was still warm inside. It may have just been the one time I went, though. If you are just looking for a place to swing by and grab a coffee, this should not be an issue!

Otherwise, I would one hundred percent come back!

The place has a good vibe, but unfortunately I cannot recommend the cappuccino that I was sold here. I don’t blame the barista but rather the source. The coffee was over roasted and tasted burnt. On the other hand, the croissant was warmed in the microwave. It would be better to do it on a oven, or not at all. It ended up soggy instead of a nice crispy croissant. These are small details that if improved will better match the place’s high end vibe and cost.

Absolutely the best breakfast sandwich I’ve EVER had. Service was excellent and the coffee was delicious. I’ll definitely make the trip to do all of my studying here for now on. Beautiful little coffee shop!

First time back in awhile…..I was very satisfied! Staff was very kind, service was fast, and great atmosphere inside. Highly recommend Cotton Candy Matcha Latte special and the Strawberry Hazelnut bagel! 🥯🤩

Totally agree with other reviews- European-cafe vibe, stylish and most of all- amazing coffee! We had lattes and grabbed the most tastiest cookies on the same block from Cookies and Dreams! That place was suggested by the barista who was friendly and totally made our day! We are passing by but would definitely come back when driving this way. One of the best coffee we had on the road!

Cute little place! Some nice seating options if you’re wanting to hang out. There is some food, plus some alcoholic beverages if you’re into that kind of thing. I didn’t love my cold brew—very bitter. But the matcha latte was decent. Worth a try!

Really cute coffee shop in a nice little area. We called ahead and ordered 4 breakfast sandwiches. Cora and the other staff were very nice. Good coffee. Definitely recommend. Would have been a nice spot to sit and have a coffee if we didn’t have a long day of travel. Very clean shop and nice decor. 4.75 stars.

If you are really hungry, I’d recommend ordering your breakfast sandwich with double egg. The croissant is fairly big and the egg seemed small for its size (not a big deal and would still get again). Would recommend both bacon or sausage on your breakfast sandwich.
