LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Clouds!!!! Coffee, food, employees, and owner are absolutely amazing! Have done breakfast and murder mysteries, never disappointed! So lucky to have this gem in Ames!
You definitely pay for the view. Coffee and food are extremely overpriced. I’ve paid almost $7 for a simple cup of (just okay) brewed coffee with cream and a flavor shot. The owner is also extremely impolite and unkind to staff. I applied for an events internship here, open to all majors, and not only did he make me wait for him for 45 minutes in the empty cafe, but he immediately turned me down before asking a single question because I wasn’t an event management major in school. View is amazing on a stormy day and seating is very cozy, but between the prices and my experience with the owner the whole place has just lost its appeal to me. Every once in a while I give it another try but I always leave wishing I went somewhere else instead.
We loved the atmosphere and the amazing views of campus. We both got hot cocoa bombs, which could have used some more chocolate flavor but maybe that's just how cocoa bombs are. Prices were fair and service was good. Will definitely stop by again and bring family to show them the amazing views.
WHERE HAS THIS BEEN HIDING?!? Great coffee spot and great fun at the Murder Mystery dinner! We WILL be back again and again! Food was great, especially for the price and we had a blast! Also happens to have the best view in Ames.
A true hidden gem here in Ames. Clouds offers some of the best espresso drinks 100 feet up above Iowa State, and it's absolutely gorgeous! Definitely worth checking out if you're a student, or just visiting the area. Great study spot too!
Clouds has the best view of any restaurant/cafe in Ames. The menu is limited, but that is understandable due to the soft opening. The coffee is alright, the non-coffee drinks/food are not great.
Very cozy cafe. Got a mocha latte (decently priced, same price as a mocha at Starbucks) and a peach custard dessert, which was amazing. I loved the atmosphere and decor of the place. It was very quiet and peaceful. I’ll definitely be back to check out their food and start working on my thesis.
First time there. Very cozy. Yummy coffee, and little chocolate extras that looked delicious. Bit on the pricy side and I don't know what is like when they are busy, but worth a try@
The best view from the only "skyscraper" of Ames. Chef Yann is personable and entertaining, kid friendly. Deserts are outstanding and sophisticated, while the rest of the food and drinks can be a hit or miss. Wait staff are good-willed students who deserve a bit more coaching. Restaurant is on two floors, and the design and furnishing of the upper one will please Instagram users. Visit when you have moderate hunger, plenty of time, and enjoy the space and views.

Great coffee place, foods are nice. And the view is the best around. Recommend for dating, chilling, and studying.
