Burgie’s has the best coffee in Ames. Their coffee doesn’t make me super jittery and it has a nice, smooth taste. I usually get a vanilla latte except for when there’s special syrups (like pumpkin spice or rose, etc). Drinking their coffee is enjoyable! Not to mention that their food tastes great too. I always get their Country Grind sandwich. It’s really filling and always comes out very hot! My partner always gets the Farmers Burrito and it’s also delicious. The price is great for the quality of food and coffee. Definitely try it if you have the chance!

I never have a bad experience here. I don't really drink coffee, but the smoothies and milkshakes are good. The vanilla Shakes actually have specks of vanilla in it and have a richer vanilla taste compared to other places nearby. Their food is also delicious. The farmer's burrito is my favorite breakfast and keeps me filled for a long time too. I also suggest the grilled cheese for lunch. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy and perfect for studying or getting together with a couple friends. There is limited seating so be aware it may be hard to find somewhere to sit if it is busy.

Burgies is a unique setting tucked into the same building as a gas station. This is Iowa though. We are open to what can be in a gas station! The coffee shop is tucked to the side so there are no feelings of being in a gas station/convenience store.
My friend insisted we order the Country Grind sandwich because it's "the best" and she wasn't wrong! It was as delicious and beautiful! We were able to grab a seat next to the fire place and make breakfast extra cozy.
She ordered a Cherry Lime Kombucha and I ordered a hot chocolate which I've had countless times before from Burgie's. It's always perfect. The staff are always friendly too!

Coffee was above average. Perfect place to study or hang out. Lots of outdoor seating. Easy in and out location and they have a drive thru.

I originally started going to Burgies because of a corporate event where their food truck was serving and was impressed with how good the coffee is.
Since then my wife has became a fan. May I say while the coffee is good, I would only recommend if you are going on a coffee date or intending to stay here for a longer time.
I have been in the drive thru multiple times, it doesn’t matter if there is a long line or not, the wait is always 15-20 minutes for two drinks.
In addition the coffee shop is extremely expensive, while the price is $6-$7 comparable to most shops, the largest coffee they let your order is 16 oz, so your essentially paying double the cost to other shops in Ames considering your getting a small coffee

New hires. The lady taking orders for drive thru seemed like she didn’t want to be there. She didn’t even smile once. My food was passive aggressively handed me to me and my sunrise melt looked like something McDonald’s prepared for you, put together very sloppy. I go here often and haven’t had this kind of service from them. I didn’t recognize any of them so must be new staff working.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food. The Southwest breakfast burrito was perfect. My wife and I shared a generous white chocolate raspberry scone alongside a milk chocolate mocha that came with a turmeric and chai flavoring. The spice, creaminess, and excellent balance of sweet vs savory paired quite well with our light lunch.
We’ll be seeing y’all again next time we drive through Ames!

No allergens list on in store or online menu, my partner had a severe allergic reaction to the peanut butter that they put in the ‘lean green’ smoothie - doesn’t make sense for pb to be in that type of smoothie so why would anyone think to ask? For a place that acts invested in healthy eating and buying local it’s disappointing to see that they can’t even list the most basic allergen. They’re main selling point is looking like a pinterest board.

Great option away from home! ❤ The Chai Frappe was so different, but really good! Confession, we didn't try any lattes or coffees, so we can't speak to that this time but will try next time.
Did try the Affagato (espresso and ice cream). It was as good as I expected.
Two scoops of ice cream were delicious, but be aware they are super tiny (they should just warn people, because they are not normal sized ice cream scoops). In their defense, I didn't see "Ice Cream" on the menu but my husband said he saw it on a sign on the way in. Still, it was very good.
Under $12 for 2 mini x Ice Cream Scoops, 1 x Affagato, and a Chai Frappe, so really decent prices.
Super friendly staff and wait time for drive thru was just under 4 min (2pm, so no line).
Very nice experience and we'll be back!

Great place to meet and chat. Good Windmill coffee, a local roaster.
