New Day Cafe

Don't go on lunch. I had an hour lunch and still unable to eat what I paid for. I told the owner and he apologized but charged me for a meal i couldnt even eat. There is a lot of people in there but very little staff which means long waits. It took so long to gwt my lunch that I couldn't eat because I had to get back to work I was unable to take it back with me as the waitess never came back to the table.

Excellent food, friendly fast service, and a reasonable prices.

We found a grey hair in my child’s food. After we paid I had told the server she then called for the owner to come over, he look at it said it was mine (I do not have grey hair) looked at me and said “oh well” tossed it on the ground! Needless to say we will never be going back!

I love this place. No schmaltzy decor or pretentions. Good home cooked food served by pleasant and outgoing staff. This was one of my mother-in-law's favorite spots and we honored her by having a family breakfast the day after her funeral. The staff all knew her and were saddened to hear she had passed. Great people here!

I went to this restaurant with my grandfather for the first time today and I'm on a very low carb diet. The soup choices that came with my meal were potato or chicken bowtie. After telling our server that I would take the chicken bow tie soup, I told my grandfather that I don't have to eat the bow ties since I can't eat noodles. When our server brought out my soup, there were no bow ties in it at all. She managed to get me a cup of soup with only broth, veggies, and chicken. I didn't request her to do that, she chose to so I could eat everything in entire cup. That was over and above, never seen before, kind of service. Needless to say, her tip was larger than what the meal cost. She deserved every bit of it. I will be returning.

One of my favorite restaurants in Terre Haute. The service is amazing & the food is wonderful. The do an amazing job accommodating for groups.

Took my dad for lunch today. Waitress took our drink and food order. Brought our soup but no drinks. Had to flag her down once she finally made eye contact. Then had to flag her down later for refills. Once food came she said she would bring napkins and never did. I didn't realize until I was done eating and went looking for a new napkin. I ordered the chicken wrap. I think for paying over $8 they could offer a bigger wrap or a side item and not charge almost $2 for fries. I guess customer service has gone down hill. 😒

We both had soup with our meal. Mine was the vegetable-beef and my wife had the chicken "shell" (noodle). Both soups we good.

The chicken sandwich I had was tasty. My wife was a little disappointed with her meal. She felt the chicken was a little greasy and the cooked carrots were like mush. They didn't bring the roll that came with her meal and the dessert was brought out after I had went up to pay.

So it was a mixed feeling for the place. Worth a try in my opinion.

This is definitely my go to! Always delicious, great service and never leave there feeling robbed! Our favorite place since moving to terre haute
