Java Cafe

My boyfriend and I are in town for Thanksgiving and desperate for coffee. Everything, EVERYTHING, was closed. We found Java and saw the lights were on… pulled into the parking lot next to a car with a couple ladies. They got out of the car and waved us in for coffee. They were already closed, and they opened back up for us! Not only did they make us the BEST coffee, but they were so incredibly friendly. We couldn’t believe it! So impressed by their kindness.

Appears others are having a different experience. Java Cafe looks the part, etc. and downtown South Bend needs a good coffee shop but this isn't the place. Consistently bad service and routinely bad brewed coffee, usually served *cold.* Spare yourself the hassle and the classic rock soundtrack.

Fantastic baked goods! The bacon scone is crazy delicious. Very friendly staff and they operate like they've been in business for years. Great addition to town!

I love this place! Avocado toast and bagels are great. Good cold brew too. I've always had great service.

Java Cafe is my favorite place to go, especially when I need to catch a break away from campus! The service, employees, atmosphere, and the coffee and food are all exceptional! Highly recommend!

I enjoyed the smell of my decaf macchiato (italian style, oat milk) while restraining myself from ordering their freshly made cannoli.
