Great cause, good coffee and fun atmosphere

I had no idea that I was walking into this space that was more than your avg. coffee shop. After a heavy week, I was looking for any old coffee shop simply to get me out of the house, and get some work done on my computer. We’ve all been there... when you’re in a dark funk, staying home and sulking in it can make matters worse. I passed this place on Fullerton and saw ppl inside with laptops and thought ‘BOOM, that looks like a good spot.’ I was a little confused when the Barista asked me what brought me in to get caffeinated with them today. I rambled off some response about getting some work done for the work week ahead of me. He then told me what this place is all about and that every cup of coffee bought here goes toward suicide prevention and mental health education. Immediately I felt safe, I felt understood, and I knew I had found my new coffee spot. In my astonishment, I told him I’ve had a really heavy week so I’m elated to be here. He said, “it’s funny how you can randomly stumble upon exactly where you need to be.” Truth is, we really are in this together. And here, it all starts with a cup of coffee and a conversation.

Every time I come it's a pleasant experience. I love the coffee, the workers, the artwork, and the mission. One of my favorite cafes in the entire city!!

Great coffee, great mission. Buy a bag of beans for home and get a free coffee. Michael Scott would call this win-win-win. Oh, they have fantastic donuts and pastries too, so maybe it's win-win-win-win?

Awesome coffee shop with a great atmosphere. It's a business that's doing good by giving back to the community by focusing on mental health awareness. I love that. (Coffee was great too!)

Overall they are a cool coffee shop that donates money to a good cause (suicide prevention). They make good coffee and chais (and have all the milk substitutes). Only downside is they are a bit pricy

This is my go-to spot for morning coffee. Staff is always friendly and they have various delicious pastries.

Cool vibe at this cafe and especially live that all proceeds go to support mental health! Had the cold brew with oat milk but would love to come back for a latte and to chill on the patio!

You have to stop by if you are in Logan Square. It’s a pretty spacious shop with wonderful baristas ready to assist you in case you don’t know what to order. Like c’mon, Dark Matter coffee AND all proceeds supporting mental health awareness groups... like name a better duo. I’ll wait...
