New Wave serves tasty Metropolis coffee with a side of hipster guilt (get off your phone before you order). The interior layout is a jumble of loveseats and cafe tables filled with studying art students and weekend warriors. Solid for carry out drinks and solitary work sessions, not ideal for groups or leisurely conversations.
The mocha latte was pretty good, and they had a friendly staff as well. The downside was the hardcore music they had on, making it not as chill and a little bothersome. Free wifi was a plus though.
Like to come to this place to work a few hours a day during the week. The WiFi STINKS- the only consistent thing about it, is how unreliable it is. Off and on at the most inconvenient times, constantly. So many people complain about it. I've told the employees a few times now, I don't know how many times I have to tell them before something actually changes- but unless I hear differently- I'm sadly going to have to go consume coffee/lunch/work elsewhere. FIX YOUR WIFI!!!
Got the drip coffee here, and although it wasn't spectacular it was flavorful and a cut above some places I could name. Worth your while, but judging by some of the negative reviews staffing might be hit or miss depending on who's on.
I've been going here out of necessity for the last year and, am fortunate to say, will not be going there much longer. not sure if this is part of their schtick, but the servers range from indifferent to downright rude. some don't even look at you. if you're charging $3 for a couple of coffee, if better be done with a smile.
Spacious, relaxed, vegan options. Only thing I don't like is the loud and hard music. Something softer would make it more attractive and easier to get some work done in this place
One of my favorite coffee places we visited while in Chicago! I had a really good bagel and a pretty good latte! Would recommend to locals and non locals
My go to spot for Metropolis coffee - whole bean, 1/2 lb - and the croissants are delish. But I don't think I'd hang out here much, though. The music is always a little too loud in there. I get my coffee and go.

Kinda hard to mess up a bagel, but they managed to do it while trying to convince me I was wrong.
Better options & value within a few block radius.
