New Wave's espresso is always served burnt and sour beyond all recognition, and the decorations and music are horrible. In addition, the owners of this place are complete dicks to their neighbors, specifically Cafe Mustache and La Boulangerie. That said, the staff are invariably friendly and attentive.

Sandwiches are really good and fresh! Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, tables, couches etc. Free Wifi. Music can be a bit loud, so group convos are hard but it's a good vibe for studying/working.

Really fun hang-out space. Has a hipster vibe. You can also spent a lot of time there just chilling, on your computer or reading a book. Love their coffee-locally roasted and delish. Also really friendly baristas with good recommendations :)

Good place to get work done and then change gears and go out - not too loud but also quite busy. The sandwiches are odd which is nice, the pastries are aight, coffee too. Overall sort of expensive though.

Odd place, supposed to be "hip" but I just don't get it. Rough, no proper furniture, loud and echo-y. Coffee was average, food selection mediocre, and I tried to order a scone, one of the few things they had to eat, and they kept calling it a "biscuit". Seriously, American or not, it can certainly never be a "biscuit". Either way, the "biscuit" was mediocre too..
I'm sure some people like this place, I will go and be "hip" somewhere else, thank-you...

Great place to chill in the evening and either catch with some reading or work on your laptop while enjoying a nice cup of coffee and amiable ambiance. (Bonus: the tea selection is awesome and you get a free refill of hot water!)

So...I get a bagel w hummus and onion. Never been here before, everyone treated me with a very poor attitude. There are only pumpernickel bagels left. Ok I'm down. This guy starts to toast bit. Comes out of the toaster and he walks away. I say nicely, the bagel came out. He just stands there ignores me and stares into space. I guess he was pretty stoned. So this guy with short hair and glasses says rudely to me, *we got it, well get it when we can*. When?? When you're done staring at the wall???? What kind of stupid people seriously work here? I gave it two stars cuz the food was actually ok. But the people that work here are seriously stupid af. I'll never come back here smh. The owner needs competent people working here...

Having lived around the corner from New Wave for 3 years, it's always been frustrating. The serve excellent Metropolis coffee, but the service is just terrible. Always slow no matter the crowd, the don't always make the drinks properly. It certainly benefits from location more than anything else.

This place is a nice coffee shop for those who need to kick back and relax. Drink some coffee, set up your laptop, enjoy the free wifi and do your thing. The menu has many different coffees all ranging in prices affordable, with very tasty treats as well. If your in the logan square area come check it out for some tasty coffee.
