Practically every weekend dayhike we take starts here, with a couple coffees and breakfast sandwiches to go. Great staff, wonderful patio and a nice menu full of many choices. Fun space and definitely worth a visit (or a hundred!)

Jackalope Coffee is a quirky cafe in Bridgeport (south of Chinatown). The outside (and inside) are decorated with bright murals and paintings.
It's a large cafe (two dining areas and outdoor seating) that serves coffee all day and breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, order a latte and two chocolate chip croissants. They are from nearby Bridgeport Bakery and perfectly warm in the mornings.
If you want a unique coffee shop experience with good food, go here!

Food AND drinks are good. great wifi. Only CON is that sometimes they play the music WAY too loud like its a lounge instead of a coffee shop.

Super friendly staff, really good coffee. I'm disabled and have a service dog and the staff here does a superior job of making everyone feel welcome. The world would be a lot better place if there were more places like this.
Also, the decor made up of rock posters is awesome. Look forward to coming back here on my next visit to Chicago.
They absolutely do have the best coffee in Chicago. If you are visiting the city, take the Halsted bus, stop at Jackalope, then eat at George's and finish up the night at Maria's Community Bar.

This is a good coffee shop to sit and do some work at. They have decent coffee and good breakfast sandwiches which are unique. The workers have always been hard-working and friendly to me. Very chill atmosphere.

Recently re-opened with COVID proofing measures in place. Staff was masked and gloved, there were plastic dividers in place at checkout, and marked out spaces to wait in line. Some seating outside for those with time.
Great staff, always super friendly and helpful. Please support local businesses!

Metropolis beans aren't as good as what they offer over at Bridgeport Coffeehouse, but I generally prefer the ambiance, style and food options at Jackalope. The place is vibrant, covered in art, gig posters, and stuff from local artists and community groups, and they always seem to have something old and amazing on the TV.
Maybe I'm just a 90s punk kid, but this place really suits my style.
Nice bonus: Jackalope is next to Halsted bus stops, and they post a live monitor that shows bus times.

Good cofree. Decent sandwiches. Fun decorative theme. Very friendly staff. My only complaint is that the window areas aren't used very well. The tables back right in to the counter so even if a seat is open you can't get to it.

If you like local art scenes and a bohemian vibe, you're gonna like coming here. You can straight up buy the art off the walls while sipping some combination of things in coffee or tea. Staff is friendly and awesome to talk to.
