Backlot Coffee

Backlot's menu is very streamlined (not cluttered with too many choices). They do carry a few unique drinks with accoutrements and the menu changes during different seasons (ie honey syrup in fall instead of lavender syrup in summer). Tea is a great, varied part of the menu that pleasantly surprised me. Plus, I will never say no to a Do-Rite Donut, which they carry alongside seasonal savories (ie breakfast sandwiches).

Amazing coffee and great service

I am from Japan and I feel so lucky to randomly dropped by this cafe.
The matcha latte they serve is extremely good. I drunk, closed my eyes, exhaled, and omg it was so relaxing. This matcha latte made me recall Japan. I recommend you to give it a try.

I really wanted to like this place the people who worked there were great the place was decorated very nicely but at the end of the day it's all about the coffee I enjoy a nice full bodied cup of dark roast which they do not serve the Americano was not to my liking

Nestled in Old Irving Park neighborhood, Backlot partners with Stumpton coffee roasters, Do Rite Donut, Bang Bang Pie, Rare Tea Cellar, and Prairie Grass Cafe. With all these notable businesses, I could try from each if I wanted to.

This place sells coffee, tea, and baked goods. I bought a matcha lattee with a choclate glazed Do-Rite donut. The match tea lattee ($5) has a fragrant leafy powder taste with creamy milk and little sugar for that antioxidant boos. The chocolate glazed donut ($3) had a crispy exterior and soft inside. Barista was friendly and greeted us as we entered the place. Kid friendly, small area though.

There's 2 locations in Illinois, one in Evanston and Chicago. Small parking lot and free residential parking abailable. Less than a block away from the Metra and CYA blueline.

Not a coffee person but a tea and infusions one!! Cardamom roses latte sooo good!! They use compostable straws, paper cups!! I really appreciate it and the beverage feels like a hug 🤗

Warm smiles, hot coffee. This has become my go to spot in the neighborhood. The oat milk latte is amazing. The service is knowledgeable and it’s a great quiet cute space

Amazing espresso! I recommend the lavendar latte with oat milk! The baristas are passionate and knowledgable about their product! I just discovered Backlot last week and have gone nearly every day since!

Love Backlot, haven't had a bad experience yet and I've been dozens of times. Great drinks and the donuts aren't bad either!

Backlot has become my favorite coffee shop in Chicago. Great brew, people and vibes. If they threw in a few comfy chairs, I’d never leave.
