Food was excellent and service was as well. I had the single burger, which actually comes with two patties! Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I definitely want to try out their bone marrow and toast next time!

I really really wish I knew the name of my waiter. He was a tall, slender, African American man working there 9/6/22 around 4p. I’m so specific because if the manager sees this, give the guy a raise! I speak quickly and he was able to take down what I wanted without making me repeat myself a million times. What really impressed me was how he treated the very drunk woman seated beside me. He made sure she got her food quickly to help her sober up. I don’t think most waiters would have helped someone out like that… the burger was amazing! I am so sad that I live In GA, and it will be next year before I return. When I do get back to Chicago I will definitely be heading to Au Cheval for dinner.

For such a big name, Au Cheval has a cute and cozy interior. Everything was delicious to the point where honestly, the burgers weren’t even the highlight! The kale ceasar, fried chicken, and potato hash were all incredible. Our server was attentive and friends, and we had an amazing time.

The staff is amazing. Food is amazing. From the host stand, to the server, management and chefs at the counter top I was blown away. The service is next level. Steven, Kat and Travis made my night so special. I can’t wait to come to Chicago again to feast here. Y’all are truly amazing.
Btw If you don’t want to commit to a full portion of the bone marrow they do offer a half portion!

It’s worth the wait. I would have waited another hour if needed to get into this wonderful place.
My first bite of the Au Cheval double cheeseburger made me feel like a golden retriever getting a belly rub on a 70-degree and sunny day. 🍔 🐶 ☀️
The girlfriend and I split the double cheeseburger and “crispy fries”, which was plenty of food for the two of us.
Their crispy fries come with a side of Mornay sauce which pairs nicely with the egg to add some sauciness to the fries, but in my opinion, the star condiment is the garlic aioli.
We went home on cloud nine.
The next day, after touring eight apartment units across the city, my Apple Watch told me I burned 1,300 calories walking and biking, so I decided to treat myself.
I also wanted to see if the Au Cheval burger would be as delicious the second go round.
Since I was alone (the girlfriend had a work dinner) I got seated at the bar immediately.
My eyes started to water as I took the first bite. I can’t think of a time I’ve ever felt more satisfied in my life.
Quick note on Small Chevral:
They say there ain’t nothing like the real thing and I believe that applies here. My first Small Cheval experience was very lack luster.
(Probably a good thing for my belly and wallet though!)

Food: Burger was on point along with Bone marrow they served was a delicacy which hard to find.
Service: One of the best service I’ve received, the server was enthusiastic during the whole experience, positive vibe and explained the menu well which made it easy to order.
Atmosphere: Chill place for gathering with lounge music and great energy from all the staff.

It is worth the wait! The burger is fantastic. Best burger I’ve had in the city. Fries are phenomenal. Wait staff are professional and quick. The only potential downside is you might come out smelling like burgers.

If you have the time, this is a must stop. Best burger I’ve had. The quality is unreal. You will have to expect a wait, but it’s well worth it. Staff was very friendly and food came out quickly.

My buddies and I were in for a guys trip from New Orleans and loved it. We all dropped in right at 10 or so on a Sunday for brunch and it didn’t disappoint. I had the omelet which literally was like cutting butter with a knife while the guys had the classic burger.

Best burger I've ever had. The single cheese burger comes w two parties so don't be fooled! And definite add the egg and thick sliced bacons, you won't regret it! The fries is a must try too, the sauces that comes with it are just too good. And finally, the bone marrow is delicious as well, specially the beef cheek sauce on the side!
Just a side note, wait time is usually ~2 hours on weekend nights and ~1 hour for lunch, so drop your name down first!
