Probably the most fun I've had at a job. I loved working here. At one point I was the fry cook, bartender, waitress, hostess, busboy, and dishwasher all at once which i really enjoyed and when help did come they couldn't have been cooler people to work with. Usually its the customers reviewing the workers but I would like to say how friendly, patient and polite all the guests were.
My husband and I went to Trailside Cafe for breakfast on a Friday morning at 7:30. I'll be up front-there was only one woman working and she was RUNNING. When we walked in, she was ringing up a group of people (including a high School football player), and told us to find a table and seat ourselves. Honestly, there were multiple tables yet to be bused, but plenty of clean ones too. Many tables were full of customers. Once Maria finished ringing up costumers, she literally RAN to the kitchen, coming out with armfuls of food. As soon as she delivered orders she took our drink and food order (menus were on the tables), and she ran off. My husband ordered a pancake combo, and I ordered an Omlette (I think it was the Cataldo). As Maria refilled our coffees, she apologized for the wait (not long) and the dirty tables. Apparently she was the only one scheduled, and the entire high School football team came for breakfast, along with regular customers, and she hadn't stopped running since they opened. Despite this, she was smiling and laughing and had a great attitude. My Omlette... Was probably one of the best I ever had. Tons of sauteed veggies (onions, Bell peppers, tomatoes and mushrooms) plus crispy bacon and cheese-it was wonderful!!!. My husband enjoyed his pancakes, eggs and bacon, and my Omlette came with hash browns and sour dough toast. The food was great, and Maria's positive attitude more than made up for a short wait and some uncleared tables. We will definitely be returning (just not on a game day, where they were obviously understaffed). Overall great experience.
I had to write a review because of all the negative reviews here. Maybe service is an issue during summer, but I had no problem.. The waitress was polite, attentive, and efficient. The food was standard breakfast fair, tasty and reasonably priced. The pancakes were fluffy and the bacon was thick cut with four large slices to a side. This was the only place that was open for many miles before 7:00, so that forced me here and I'm glad I came.
I feel so obligated to review this place. My husband and I had been to every other breakfast place in Wallace, and felt like we needed to finally try this one, despite the mediocre reviews we saw online. We were so blown away! Had the Center of the Universe breakfast and a short stack of pancakes (we split them - I'm not a monster). Breakfast is just about the only meal I'm at all discerning about, and this was seriously one of my favorite meals in the past year. The pancakes were so fluffy, and the other was just awesome. The service was speedy, attentive and chipper, although we walked in just before it closed. I would (and will!) 100% go back here for sure!
Biscuits and gravey ..not good. Sections of the biscuits were cold and very dense. Got the impression they may have been frozen and not completely thawed. Gravey had a strange twang. ...just not right. Coffee was not hot. Wifes eggs were undercooked despite requesting well done. The only positive note...the hotel is great.
Good breakfast. Decent prices. Good service. Right off the I-90.
Confusing entry. The sign said to go to the front door (around the side of bldg). Those doors were locked. The side door (by the parking lot) was unlocked. lol

Very good breakfast. Very good service by the only hostess/waitress/table busser/and dishwasher.

Minimally staffed so if your in any hurry, this isn't the place for you. But food was very good and plenty of seating and great views

The server was rude and irritated that we came in at 9:15 (45 minutes before they close) so we left.
