Hoot Owl Cafe

Always get a great meal from the Hoot Owl. Very busy and had to wait approximately 20 minutes before being seated, but almost always that way during the weekend. Food however was worth the wait

Damn good breakfast! Taller gal server with the glasses and plateful of scones was pleasant to be around.

I was so impressed by the hoot owl and their amazing staff! My father and I were celebrating Father’s Day a week early and we could not some raving about the breakfast burger! Our waitress was very friendly, and the atmosphere was great. You could tell there were many regulars in there, and the friendly banter with the staff and customers was refreshing! They surprisingly have a lot of room for customers.

even if there is a wait to get in, it is well worth your time! If you live in sandpoint/ponderay or are visiting like we were, this place is a MUST visit. I will be back very soon 😊, and next time I’ll say “good morning, coffee please!”

Absolutely love the Hoot Owl! It is your old school Cafe Diner with floors that are not level and squeak when you walk in and old chairs that are mismatched. The staff are amazing. They are friendly and funny. The food is well priced with large portions. We typically get a box to go every time we eat. They're typically is not a long wait but there's always a fair amount of people there.
Highly recommend.

They have pretty good food, the wait was kind of long,but they were mega busy, so it was expected, friendly staff,and clean establishment, try and see how you like it

First off, the menu here has more creative options packed into its five pages than you could ever imagine! The food is down home, mom & pop diner style hearty and even the half portions are huge! The wait staff is always Northern Idaho pleasant and happy to greet you when you walk in and make certain you're served in a timely manner.

Bring a pillow because you'll be in a food coma afterwards!

If you're a local, you know this is the best place in town. I've been coming here for years, and while I travel for work across the country, this cafe has the best country fried steak I have ever had. Their redneck eggs benedict is amazing.

This is a place where food comes first, service second, and looks a far third.

The food and service was great. It was not as full as in normally was. The only thing this time was the there Famous Clam Chowder didn't taste like it should. So I kindly said kindly said something. She thanked me because she had noticed that people weren't finishing there Chowder Clam, and we figured that must had been why. Anyway it had happened a NEW Batch had just gotten done so she brought us both out some of the next batch, and OMGOODNESS AND THANK GOODNESS It was BACK to the GREAT Tasting way it had ALWAYS been🤗 Thank You Hope Owl for ALL YOU DO for this community.

Loved the atmosphere, the food was great! The prices were good and the food portions were massive. I had to get the kids plate second round lol
Honestly place needed to be bigger, then it would outshine every other restaurant in Ponderey.
